This is a screen grab of a fight with the final boss. It has two stages: it starts off as a tank and then it transforms into a walking robot and eventually it flies above the player. I might add one last state when it shoots really fast in dying frenzy.
Then I went a bit crazy about respawn animation and did my best to make it interesting. It also brigns an important and very deep question: Is it really the hero who is fighting on the alien ship or is it mere copy of him? Who cares right? Or do we?
You can also see an option to submit online score in the gif above. That is something I was working on too. It uses Google Play leaderboards as it's not really that hard to implement them in GMS. With now working checkpoint system I think it's easy to say we're getting closer to release.
