Adds more varied squadron skins for F-15C (Mage and Spare).
Dedicated to all you S/MTD fans out there.
Important! Read this.
- All three Trigger skins use the same MREC (light and metallic effects) map file as Osea skin.
- Installing F-15C_Debugger skin will alter the MREC map for Osea skin, replacing it with a flat tone one, this does not affect other people's mods.
- Not installing it may cause minor visual glitch: Osea skin camo pattern appearing at certain light angles on modded skins.
This pack contains two replacement skins for F-15C and a bugfixer file.
- Mage skin (Skin 04), Ferris camo pattern.
- Spare skin (Skin 05), based on OADF 229th Tactical Fighter Squadron.
- Bugfix skin file.
Installing: make a folder named "~mods" in "% Ace Combat 7 install directory%\Game\Content\Paks", select files file from the archive, depending on which skins you want to replace and put it there.

It isn't a bug; it's like this on every plane, skin 1,4,5,6 all share an MREC.
This is the reason that so many mods only use skin 2 and 3. Also, your 'debugger' skin could break other people's mods depending on load order.
Yeah I have seen the message about 1/4/5/6 sharing MREC in the modding guide while it first came out. When Silver said "bug" I was wondering why there was no one else mentioned it.
BTW seems most(if not all) of the Flanker family with camo patterns have blank MERC. Which is probably the reason why Silver didn't encountered this issue, since he was making solely Flanker skins until this one.
And the solution seems simple: make a blank MERC for F-15C. Shouldn't really have negative impacts while removing the clash caused by custom MERC.
Indeed. And "Debugger" skin *is* a blank MREC map, so it shouldn't break other people's mods, unless they use a custom MREC for Osean skin (which would affect Trigger skins anyway).
You are also very close to the truth in the reasons, why I thought it was a bug. I have encountered similar issue way back when making skins for HAWX - some planes had texture paths placed incorrectly (that usually went for duplicate planes, like F-16A and F-16C).
Also, while not all Flankers have blank MREC maps, according to RythusOmega Su-30SM uses all MRECs properly.
I'll edit the description sometime later today.
Ah, I learned how MERC works in HAWX2, where some DLC skins have non-blank MERC. After I replaced them with the skins I prefer there were still reflections of the original ones, and I figured it out by copying a original "_S01.dds" texture and use it with the replaced skin.
Is there a way to make the 3 grey colored one for special skin also. The Spare Squadron one or 8492 which ever you call it for the Special skin slot.
