A grand hello to all players of Dawn of War here, especially to those who enjoy playing mods!

I wish to introduce you to a long-lasting & large modification I have been working on, known as the Tabletop Round-up Mod, or 'TTRU' for short. This 18 month-old mod is designed with care to match the gaming style of the tabletop game a little more than it currently is, along with a vast assortment of exciting additions.

To be brief, the purpose if this mod is to bring dawn of war closer to tabletop gaming, so that players of Tabletop are able to associate more strategies & tactics with the game from the board. With the careful re-work of all the attributes, plus many more new units, features & mind-blowing weapons come a wider array of tactics & specialist strategies. It also adds new Unit Models such as the Powerful Necron Pylon, and Mighty Space Marine Venerable Dreadnoughts, and Skins to pre-existing Models such as Camouflaged Tau.

This mod also rewards those players who may choose to use lower-tier units in favour of higher-tier ones for a certain job, as unit costs scale with unit potential, so very powerful units (e.g. comparing Broadside battlesuits with Tau pathfinders) are far more expensive then their lesser equivalents.

Included with the above, are modified tech trees which encourage longer games in an attempt to avoid fast teching, less instances of unit redundancy so that lower-tier units can compete better with higher tier units, different diversities between units (rather than just toughness & damage), & (slightly) higher unit lethality, so that careful planning & usage of certain unit combinations can be as effective as unit spamming & reduces the risks of stalemates forming.
It also has a new capping system to better match the force organisation charts in the Tabletop game, including a unique Heavy support cap which units that occupy heavy support in the Tabletop game use this (as a measure to avoid spamming such things). A similar cap exists for Fast attack, & a more subtle one exists for elites too (Squad cap has been kept to keep with the unit redundancy idea).

The artificial intelligence has even had a re-work, thanks to Thudmeizer & the rest of his skilled Skirmish AI team. Almost every new unit & feature in game has been implemented to work with the AI to maximum performance.

Online game play is greatly Encouraged in the Tabletop Round-up mod, functioning well & now working like ordinary online games over the lobby. To make it easier for people & yourself to identify TTRU players online, it would be helpful if you identified yourself via an obvious clan name. Putting something like [TTRU] somewhere in your online name would be of great help so other players of the mod can identify you & each other. A Gaming Day may be organised in the future for players to get together & play TTRU.

Whilst it is almost impossible to make a perfectly balanced mod, TTRU is considered to (now) be balanced, so that for the most part, there is nothing that is horribly overpowered in game, although every race has some sort of way of completely obliterating an enemy base with relative ease!
What flaws that TTRU does have, most can be eliminated with your help. This mod is fully functional online but unfortunately cannot be totally perfect (then again, neither is Dark Crusade). So with all due respects, you can help even by merely playing the mod & giving us constructive criticism on the few but remaining balance issues in the game.

This mod also probably has more units than any other Dawn of War mod at current, Including new super-units & gargantuan units. This mod is unrivalled in its new content, & there is still more to add too.

Anyhow, a personal hello to all members of this forum, especially since this is infact my first post here :)
Unfortunately I won't be around here much, but I DO have a mod entry here too, although it is somewhat out of date now.

I've read the forum rules (that are not hidden in the depths) so I'm hoping this is the right area to post in.

Hope you enjoyed the content. Constructive critisism is welcome ^^

Migb - Hello to my first replier!
I'm glad you're interested. Dark Crusade (not just Dawn of War) is a stand-along game, so you can buy it for something like about £15 (that's $30) nowadays, or less if you're lucky.

Ambershee - Yes, the last screenshot is a warhound :D

Oh, & also, look out for a troll called thatfatguy8urm0m29. Be aware of this flaming freak. This kid is probably one of the rudest idiots out there with no respect for good work.

If you see him, be sure to call abuse at him, & also sterilize him to make sure that he doesn't produce any similar half-arsed low intellicence children. He clearly has no respect for good work, seeing as every single sentence he basically swears or uses some form of inferior dialect (plus he can't spell either, connoting that he is a dumbass).

Begin the hunt!
