Hi! I'm thinking of starting a gamedev blog. Does anyone know of any good examples? I'd like to see what people think a good dev blog should look like. Thanks for the help! |

Most gamedev blogs will 'generally' fall into two groups: 1.) A blog over a specific project, including breakthroughs and hurdles. Campo Santo, the developers of Firewatch, do a pretty fair job talking about their game, inspirations, news, and other topics. (Their older blogs are more hands-on with their game design) Frictional Games, the developers of SOMA/Amnesia, have an excellent blog over game design as a whole and design analysis, but also talk/analyze their own work. These are only two examples, most developers will have a blog or video dev diaries if you google it. There are also some one-offs not a part of an official blog but a great read none-the-less, such as this one over Skyrim's Modular Approach to Level Design. That being said, to be blunt, game development blogs are hard to get any steam with. |

I follow this one: www.bombdogstudios.com/blog He updates it everyweek, so it's been a real journey watching the whole process come together. |
