I'm trying to decide on a game engine in which to develop a 2D platformer; programming in ActionScript would be my first choice, but that's currently beyond the humble capabilities of my team (all two of us). I was reading up on Multimedia Fusion's ability to export files to Flash, and have a few questions. 1) Do other major 2D development programs feature the ability to export to Flash? 2) Are there any compromises in quality or stability when exporting in this manner? 3) Assuming static background images (comic panels, actually) and moderate to low animation, are there any major drawbacks to Flash over similar products like Vitalize, or do the compatibility advantages outweigh these drawbacks for simple, low-requirement games? |
