Implement a Captcha on IndieDB (Forums : Suggestions : Implement a Captcha on IndieDB) Locked

Hi. I'm amazed to see some spam bots being able to post here.
Even though this forum uses a "new users aren't allowed to post links" measure (which was turning-off for me as I was going to post a relevant link right in my first post), they seem to be getting through that.

My suggestion is to implement a captcha feature on the registration page for this forum, filtering out unwanted bots. If this has been suggested before, well, nothing's been done about it.
Thanks.

We do not get bots, we get human spammers. That will do nothing aside from piss off actual users.

plus every spammer that gets through we 100% nuke their profile and leave no trace which will hopefully deter as their is 0 benefit for them to spam here

Oh, I didn't know they were actual people.
This puts a whole different perspective on 'waste of time' for me...

maybe the first time someone wants to post a link, it could need to be reviewed before its visible to the mass. in the end the moderators need to check those threats and delete those posts anyway, so it wouldnt be more work I guess.

Or you could just wait a week. If you really want to post a link you will have too.
