Hi.

I am knew to mod but I want to learn it for a special game which I don't know if he is easily moddable, I don't know what type of engine it is. There are currently only 4-5 mods which unlocks bosses, show hitbox es or just sweetFX but nothing more elaborate.

How can I determine if it is modding friendly ? I don't know what type of engine the game uses.

The game is The King of Fighters XIII on steam. It's a japanese 2D fighting game. Source code or SDK is not public nor foundable

The mods I hope to do are.

-Edit variables (DMG/HP/Speed etc)

-Hitbox corrections / modifications

-Add or Remove attack move

-Add or Remove a game mechanic

-Changing input

-Upscaling mod

-Add a frame data Viewer

-Add characters that are not in the game

-Unlock all content mod

-Add a filter like HQ2X

Thank you for your time

To find out if and how modable a game is, is to look up if there are already mods existing for it. If yes, the next step is to approach the developers of those mods and ask them about the modding friendliness of the game and about hints for where to start learning about modding that game. Rule of thumb is that the more mods you can find for a game, the more modding friendly it is.
