Can anyone help me make my first mod based entirely on the Cuban Revolution of 1959? I need a lot of help, you know the usual: coder, mapper, animator, artists and modellers. If you could help please contact me!

The game is probably going to be just single_player but if is succesful it would become multiplayer too.
In the game you play as Che Guevara, Fidel Castro, Frank Pais and other revolutionaries of the Rebel Army from the Cuban Revolution. The game will start with the attack on the Moncada Army Barracks on 26 July 1953 led by Fidel Castro, and will finish with the Rebel Army taking control of Havana on January 1st 1959. All the major battles between the revolutionary forces and the Cuban Army will take place, and later I may involove the attack on the Bay Of Pigs by Cuban exiles funded by the CIA too.

Again if you could help me make this mod, please let me know, as any help is useful!

You should email the Cuban government and ask them to give their official blessing to your mod.
If they agree, you could advertise it as being the only official Cuban Revolution mod ever.
The Castro regime could also supply you with native voice actors, graphics artists familiar with the period's architecture, Cuban musicians, etc.
All of this will only work if you live outside the USA.
If you're a US citizen, you'll end up in Gitmo (which is even less democratic than the other parts of Cuba).

Hey, I have an idea! Let's turn this into a political discussion!

But seriously, I rather like the idea. It hasn't been done (at least, not that I'm aware of) and it would be interesting, since I know virtually nothing about the Cuban Revolution. Instead of making it Single Player tho, what would be interesting is if you made it multiplayer but with 'scenario' type matches, based on real battles, or whatever.

Good luck!

As far as I know, there are no Cuban Revolution mods.
The closest thing is Cold War: Melting Point, a mod about the Cuban Missible Crisis.
I just thought, if someone else decided to steal your idea, they wouldn't be serious competition, because their mod wouldn't be official.

i think there should be a mod about the american australian war :-P

i didnt say it was a bad idea, i just said it didnt appeal to me. and me being the average gamer, would mean it doesnt have enough hook !

what do you actually think you'll bring to the table, not whats down on paper, but what will actually make it to the game?

You've got to realise that not everyone is going to accept your mod idea. A lot of people will be turned off by it, especially with a war such as this that helped bring up the Cuban Missile Crisis in the early 60's (okay, it didn't really bring it up, but it followed it). Both sides were made up of bad people, and playing the side of Fidel Castro means that you're playing as an evil dictator, which is kind of like playing the Germans in a WW2 game. It's just not what we call "consumer friendly."

Good luck with your mod, but just be aware of the criticism you'll get from it.

day of defeat.. hmm.. for some reason that rings a bell!

if you're going to let a bunch of forum bratz stomp on you and tell you what to do, you didnt have your mind set enough to make the mod in the first place :-P

If they could, they'd be making mods which excited them, instead of yet another "insert modern history here" mod.

If you want this mod to work, put together a proof-of-concept build and that might get others excited.
