Already Installed Games Showing Not Installed Thread

Hey guys! Love the service, and I love the fact that Desura locates games I've already got installed. That was incredibly helpful and saved me a shitload of time, but I've got a handful of games that I know are installed through Steam, but are showing as "Not Installed" in Desura. This is in no way a big deal, and I don't want to oversell the issue, because I can easily play the games through Steam. But I am a bit curious as to why these games aren't being recognized, and my minor neuroses demand that I at least ask. Anyone else have the same issue? Or can anyone shed some light on it?

After downloading mod for torchlight 2 -how do I install it?

Only games that we support mods for on Desura will be sought out. You can manually add something if you want.

I was going to add a mod on Portal, but then it said it couldn't find it on my computer although it was on my steam and I had played it. I have no idea how to "manually add" portal . Any suggestions and/or help?
