Main features

These are the core elements of Remnant: An Old Republic Story that we drafted. Obviously, game development is difficult, and all features are subject to change if deemed impossible to realize (looking at you, creation engine) - but at the end of the day, this is what we'd like for you to experience, once our mod is moving toward release.

  • An original action oriented and story driven RPG, set in the beloved The Old Republic Universe - 4000 years before Vader & Co.

  • A mix of the action packed combat system of modern shooters, combined with immersive old school elements, alongside first person melee combat previously seen only in Arkane Studio’s Dark Messiah of Might and Magic. Mix in the deep, character driven and emotional stories only Bioware tells (or used to tell) and you have Remnant. Pretty much.

  • Discover diverse and iconic locations from the Star Wars Galaxy, as well as new and original places, while tackling every excursion with one thing in mind: Choice. Planets, moons, ships and space stations are ready to be explored in true RPG fashion, with loot, collectibles and other secrets to find. No Tatooine though. We’re done with that place. Damn sand.

  • No real open world - rather hub levels that are big and open enough so player choice and the approach to different situations are guaranteed. Stealth, guns blazing, sniper spots, vents and other environmentally manipulative objects to give you an edge in battle - all are viable options to tackle encounters and are painstakingly handcrafted, being a stark contrast to Starfield’s approach.

  • Semi-open environments on planets and the claustrophobic corridors of ships and space stations create the perfect spacer atmosphere. Find secret areas, ambush your prey, and prepare for every fight the way YOU want to.

  • Different solutions for quests - be it main or side quests. You decide if a conflict is solved diplomatically or with “aggressive negotiations”. Most quests can be solved completely non-violently. Note how we said most - not all. We like violence. What can we say...

  • The morality system, known from the beloved Star Wars RPG Knights of the Old Republic, obviously makes an appearance. Are you an ambassador of the light? Or does the darkness take over and rule your every choice? Do none of these things phase you, and you’d rather prefer to stay neutral or let credits speak? You decide, but beware; your party members and other people in the world of Remnant react to you and your decisions in various ways. It isn’t as simple as just collecting “good” or “bad” points, some decisions will leave you questioning if what you did was the right choice after all...and some will even have further consequences much later in the game, for good - or for worse. What that means? Your choices will have an impact, and some of the consequences of your actions might not be immediately graspable. So no “Oh Sith, I didn’t want to do that, just reload” stuff happening here, you have to live with your choices, which means that every choice you DO make, has more impact.

  • The well-thought-out leveling system based on the D&D formula combined with cinematic and intense combat encounters and rendered cutscenes allow for the maximum of space flair - thanks to the robust backdrop that is Starfield.

  • Explore the immersive and believable world of The Old Republic and find data pads, holos, audio logs, relics and other hidden secrets, giving you lore, loot and backstory to everything you witness. Access your own data log and dive deeper into the world of Remnant. Find information about flora/fauna, history and ancient relics, all categorized in an encyclopedia style hololog.

  • A rough and gruesome galaxy awaits you - none of the violence and ugliness of the galaxy far, far away is hidden. Dark and twisted beings await, along with an impressive display of cities, jungles, deserts, some ice sprinkled on it and obviously desolate space stations.

  • Loved the cinematics of The Old Republic MMO, that didn’t even compare to what we got in the end? Well, our beloved famous game designers fail to do so, this is why the team at WHITE NOISE STUDIOS has your back. Intricate and easily likable characters are only matched by the psychotic nature of well-thought-out villains, who aren’t your typical one dimensional video game antagonists.

  • Loved the layered, vertical exploration and gameplay of Dishonored and found yourself immersed in the world of Dunwall with all its secrets? The level design of The Old Republic: Remnant is heavily inspired by Arkane Studio titles and goes by the creed: less is more. Obviously, the prospect of exploring a nearly infinite amount of planets is great, but our design philosophy with Remnant is a little different than that. Handcrafted, layered and stuffed full of secrets and interactivity, this is the way we always wanted to explore the galaxy far, far away.
