This is an example level that goes over what the variables in the worldspawn do. Created by INTRUDER.
The worldspawn is an entity that your map must have and it is also where you setup your sky, music, gravity and a whole lot of advanced stuff that I won't be going into, due to the fact it will just confuse you. First you have to learn the basics of the worldspawn and then you will time catch on to the rest of it. Anyways when you start making a map a worldspawn is added automatically and to get to the worldspawn you click on the edit button and then select entity info and then you will see the worldspawn, now click on the + on the left side of the word worldspawn and another word worldspawn will appear, now click on that word and then go down to the select button and click it and then click on the close button and then hit your n key and the worldspawn properties will come up and here is where you enter in keys and values. Such as to chose a sky you must of first used a sky texture for your sky brush and then here you would enter at the key line "sky"(no quotes) hit the tab key and it will move down to value and at the value line you would enter the name of the sky you want to use, like train thats from the second level of SOF. Heres the skys that can be used,
bos, bos2, irq, irq1, irq2, ny, sib, tok1, tok2, tut, ugan, train and none.. Now the last one you see sez none and thats for if your not using a sky in your map, SOF looks for a sky to load up when you play a map and this tells it that there isn't one, simple huh, anyways if you don't use a sky, type at the key line "sky" and at the value line "none" and all will be ok. Look at my worldspawn map in your editor and check out its worldspawn and in there you will see that my sun has a color and an angle and a diffuse and its ambient level and also you notice that I have a key line thats sez light and its value line is 200, now thats my way of cheating on lighting, without that the bottom half on that map would be dark because the sun only lights up the sky area and by adding that that key and value, I am doing whats called world lighting, in other words it lights the walls, floors and ceilings of a map, but I mite add it does that to the entire map, so having dark corners or dim areas is out when you do that. But you can enter in any value from 10 to 1000 depending on how bright or dim you want you world lighting to be. Like I said its cheating, so you can't have your cake and eat it too.
