3.3 full release Install the mod into your main Dow II retribution folder. Readme file included with Credits and instructions. Run either with Astartes.bat, or go to your Steam, go to Retribution, go to Properties, set launch options as "-modname Astartes" ,without the ""s. I recommend setting graphics to Ultra high before installing or mod may crash on space marines. Races , tactics, and units: Space marines heroes all have a separate race attached. Chapter commander is Adeptus Astartes, unlocking the contemporary 40k Space marines. Legion commander is Legiones Astartes, unlocking the 30k era late Great Crusade Space marines. Grey Knights commander is Daemonhunters, unlocking the Grey Knights. IG heroes are the same: Cadian commander unlocks the standard IG. Krieg commander unlocks the Krieg IG. Not suppressible, but fire slower if more powefully with their lasguns. Tau commander: Tau race, similar a bit to IG. Very weak in melee, but good at range with plasma weapons.

There are 2 different Astartes.bat files in the archive: Astartes and Astarte(2) - which one should we use ?
One is for steam, the other not.

It only requires the game to be updated to the latest version.

No due to how the campaign is structured as the same with race swaps.

Did you install correctly? Your main dow2 retribution folder should have Astartes.module, Astartes folder and 2 bat (microsoft batch) files.
you have the best mod of the year for these reasons:
-New units that no one ever believe you are a Master.
-enlargement of the base to 2 bases.
-At the improved breeds.
epic battles.
the negative:
-All units are very fast, it ruins the game, the gameplay is not enjoyed, having a lot of speed does not give time to play with army strategies.
otherwise this mod really surpasses the 40k destroyer and the elite.
I would ask you to add to the necrons and you would leave a legacy for this unique game Thank you master for your mod
The instructions say to unzip the file, but it appears as a .7z file? I don't know if this type of file can be unzipped at all, and it doesn't seem to work on my PC.
This is a 7zip file. 7zip is just better winrar.

The game itself starts but I can't play against the computer, only in the campaign. I have a pirated version (updated)
It should work against the computer too? You don't need to play against other players. Don't know mine is from steam, sorry.
how do i uninstall to replace it with the updated version
You can just overwrite it with the updated version. All files are overwritten.
In a match agaisnt AIs after 10 mins in the battle, the sound of battles doesnt hear anymore only the music, then shortly after the game crashes. happend in all my games so far..
Sound bug I think. Close all browsers and media players before starting the game, set frame rate limit to 50.

Soundbug, cap fps at 50 or/and have no youtube, music player, etc in the background. Its a vanilla "feature" .

Game crashes instantly whether I use BAT or launch options in steam. i have checked Retribution Files and also downloaded the mod twice, my computer is well over game requirements and I have settings in game set as listed in the installation.txt (newest version of mod)
Is your installation correct? Did you try both bat files?
DeusImperator is there a way to make a Unitcap or slower all Units a little bit?

I downloaded this mod in hopes i could recreate battles of the horus heresy or maybe a couple of battles of the great crusade however whenever i download this mod it seems to be missing a couple of components such as custodes or the sons of horus could someone please let me know what my issue may be thank you
