ThorC3050 actually I have the NBT-HC & NM4 packs which contains "Crusader,Hatchetman" and other mechs, if you want I can provide you with the link so you try adding mech models from it, also try to find someone called K'braid he knows how to add new mech variants with different hard points and weapons if that can help

So instead of each part of a mech being connected though a rig, each part has to be imported separately.

Another question would be if I have obj files will they need to be converted to cob files, then converted to erf? I tried using the Erfexporter to view the Hatchetman files. Do I need another program?
ThorC3050 I don't think you will need any another program it's already converted the only other thing you need is to create smaller textures for the model for example @hatch0(main texture 512x512) now resize it to (256x256) and name the texture hatch1 until you reach @hatch5 (which is 16x16) to make the game load the mech you will need to add it into the scripts check the documents included

I managed to export all erf files from the game.

Inside each file is the same erf files you have for the hatchetman. Problem is when I try to use the ERFeXporter3 to view the files it does not work.
hmm you might need to get NM4 (from the other file I send to you) and extract it manually the ERF Exporter searches for the texture so you need to set it to an extracted folder with the textures files
I contacted Evil Cow and he said "If I remember well the mech is not complete, I stopped it because it was too low quality." I guess you can try something else then
Are there any tools in this pack that edits the options.mw4 (The file that has the player key bindings) on the \resource\pilots folder? Been looking everywhere for something that does this...
MW4extractor can open the pilot files as far as I know
I can't modify the weapons even with Java.
I think it has to be updated to use the JRE 8.

no it is there inside the weapons editor folder
I swear, there's only:
- Manual.txt
- mw4weaponBalancer.Jar
- resFile.txt
- statFile.txt
- weaponblanc.txt
There's no such thing in the Weapons editor folder.
"Weapons editor 1.0" used to be the name of the folder IIRC so yeah there is nothing missing sorry about my previous comment I thought you was talking about mw4weaponbalancer.jar being missing lol

nothing is missing don't worry you will need to use the cmd and certain commands written in the manual to start working you will also need to have the weapons files extracted from the core.mw4 file by using the MW4Extractor
I already extracted the weapons and weaponsubsystems folders.
The "unable to access" happens with "java -jar mw4weaponBalancer.jar" alone, isn't that there supposed to be help info?
Is there any chance you can just make the balancing act for me? I could just make a quick spreadsheet. It's just values for the 1.6 Remaster core.

I tried following it, but as soon as I get to the console part, it just doesn't work. I really wish I could do this, but it looks like whatever is needed to make it work is basically LosTech.

Anyway try the Binary Patcher it's a more advanced version of the Weapons editor

wait if you were able to get the values for the Remastered Mod this means you can do the same with vanilla Mekpak 3.1 by extracting the original core.mw4 weapon files right?
It's actually the resFile.txt that already came with the Ultimate Tools. Of course I only looked at the speed there.
I instead jot down the stats from the game directly. Based on the tutorial, some values are actually different, the heat should actually be half. Etc.
Like I said i can't operate the jar file to compile it at all. Because console keeps saying "Unable to access jarfile".
EDIT:
I thought of just editing it from there, but I think the values are actually different from base. The ER Large Laser is at 7.5 damage on the included res-file, but the actual in game damage is 9.5.
oh remember my mod changes the Laser weapons values.
the one in the resfile is vanilla/MP3.1 so I guess you can continue from there

I actually just based the lasers on the current balance in the remaster. But I think I could reduce the damage -- not sure to an extent, but you might have to recompile again.

also I think you forgot to extract the weapons folder with the id numbers (you will need to check this option when you are extracting files next time it's really important)
i actually got the double-heat note from the weapon.
As for the id-num, I'll give it a try.

wait I know why you had the "unable to access" problem it's because you didn't change the directory in the cmd
here is an example of what the command should look like
"CD (Your folder directory)/(where you have extracted the weapon files and editor)" CD D:\Core.mw4 files\ or something depending where you have the weapon balancer extracted

I think i'd rather wait for the remastered core.mw4 you have. I can't even compile the core for some reason. Says that the items with {gamedata} has invalid name.
