On some PC's Windows defender may prohibit the installation of essential DLL and EXE files. Causing none of the custom models to appear.
This hotfix is intended for those who don't see any models after the game loads.
It is also for those who experience errors on startup or crashes during gameplay
Simply copy the contents of this rar file into your Mafia root directory and let it overwrite all of the files in it. Especially the RWdata.dll file is important that it is overwritten.
STEAM USERS BEWARE
For some reason, Steam has a Mafia folder inside another Mafia folder. You must copy this into the last folder that has all of the other content in it.

I still get crashes. these occur when I crash the car in the beginning of the game (in the city) or whenever I fire my gun in freeroaming mode.
haven't been able to really play it yet because of that. I'm running a fresh, clean steam version install on a 64 bit system (windows 7).
please help.

Can you post how much RAM you have in your system and what kind of GPU?
Also, is Mafia installed outside of the Program Files(x86) folder?
