Awesome, few questions however. Is this a new mod or just redesigned to work for the HDMod and Will Thief 2 and Deadly Shadows ever get this?

This mod was originally created by Northon. I've made it compatible with the HD mod. It will also be available for the T2 HD mod soon...

I already had used this Mod some years back for Thief 1 original. I had the problem that guards always stopped their scripted conversations all of a sudden, when I got near. Though they did not see or hear me.

Can anyone confirm that this bug is gone?

Which dark.gam should you replace? DARK.GAM or HDMOD/dark.gam?

It's HDMOD/dark.gam.

In the NewDark Graphics Settings of the T1 HD Mod there is an option called "Enhanced AI Detection". Do I need to enable that option in order for the Ultimate Difficulty Mod to work? Do they conflict with each other?

This mod does not work period.

I have the latest Thief Gold HD Texture Mod 1.2 and i have tried all the DARK.GAM files in your mod and i dont see or notice any difference whatsoever!

I even tried the older versions of this mod designed for the vanilla Pre-New Dark Engine/Texture MOD and it does not work!

I tried starting a new game to see if that was the problem and its not.

Nothing changes. Its like its not compatible

Any suggestions??

Don't use the Thief root directory!

The correct HD mod file path is \HDMOD\dark.gam

Is this really that hard to make?? cant i just take the same settings from Thief 1 over to thief 2???

i literally cannot play the game without this mod.. I am so used to the extra difficulty that playing vanilla is just boring now.,

Hey just an FYI, for Thief 2 the original Ultimate Difficulty Mod works fine when you drop the DARK.GAM file in the HDMOD directory of Thief 2 HD Mod 0.95

I tested and it works.

Also i am going to experiment with the ORIGINAL Ultimate Difficulty Mod for Thief Gold as i felt it was MUCH MUCH better in terms of AI Sensitivity! I have been using the original Mod to use with Thief 2 HD 0.95 and The AI is so sensitive and very realistic. You know its working when you open a door close to an AI and they react and go into hunt mode lol! Also even Blowing Torches with a Water arrow on a nearby enemy makes them react!!! Its Great! Im sorry Bentraxx!! but your mod does very little to the AI in my honest Opinion. The only thing i give you props for is the increased speed of the Zombies. But thats it

"Your default mode of travel should probably be walking from now on." Nah, I have the feeling that crouching is better, because you´re a little bit faster using it. Plus, he says that crouching gives you a bonus (though I never noticed it, maybe it´s not much).

First new comment in about 5 years, lol.

Thief Fix (TFix 1.27) does not use the DARK.GAM. You can rename/delete it and the game still works. It uses its own new one named TFIX.GAM

So rename that to TFIX-127.GAM and then put this ultimate difficulty mod in there, renaming it to TFIX.GAM.

You know it is working if the zombies walk at double speed in Cragscleft.

Another year another comment: here to say I appreciate you! The undead are comically fast and the balancing seems a bit out of whack but it does work now and will provide a challenge!
