At long last, a Terminus Machina update, complete with installer!
I'm asking any TM fans out there, or anyone interested in playing a big, ambitious Deus Ex Total Conversion to please help me out by testing this on your system. I have so far only tried this mod on the Good Old Games version of Deus Ex.
I will give front page kudos and video time to any Let's Players as well!

TROUBLESHOOTING
1.) The minimap and wireless hacking display won't show up, even if I press the "toggle minimap" button
-Copy the "Terminus.ini" file that came in the original zip file, and put this file in "(User)/Documents/DeusEx/Terminus/System/", and overwrite the Terminus.ini file there.
Did you add content or just bug-fix and tidy it up?
Sorry I haven't had any time to add content at this point, just tried to get a version that works on more versions of Deus Ex with less hassle. That's one problem with modding such an old game, there are so many different editions! (Original, Steam, GOG, GotY, etc.)
Nice! I'll try this as soon as the download finishes and let you know if it works with the Steam version of Deus Ex :D
It's working on the Steam version of Deus Ex! Excellent job on the new version! (Though I do have a single weird issue: the in-game mouse is awful to control, even when adjusting the sensibility it feels extremely stiff and unnatural...I don't have this issue with the vanilla Deus Ex or any other mods :/) (BTW, thanks for including an uninstall function on this version, even though I won't be needing it now >:D)
Awesome, I'm glad to hear it!
If you're having a laggy mouse you might try changing the renderer in the "configure" area in the launcher. Using Directx instead of DirectX10 usually helps. Could also try OpenGL. DX10 causes my mouse to slow down too, and graphics wise, TM doesn't use much DirectX10 so it should be an overall improvement.
I have just discovered an issue with the installer, it looks like the wireless hacking / minimap switches off sometimes when you launch the game. This is because the "Terminus.ini" file is getting overwritten by the launcher.
The fix here is you need to drag the "Terminus.ini" file from the installer zip file and drop it in your "My Documents/Deus Ex/Terminus/System/" folder.
I'll try to get this fixed but I think I might need some help from the Deus Ex Revision guys if they're around. *wink wink*
Thanks heaps SilverSpook!!!! Glad to hear the mod is still alive despite how busy you are!!!! Wish I knew how to mod games so I could help out....
Thanks milinm for playing :) I wish I had more time too. At present I have a bit of a lull in workload for the holiday season and a lot of people have been asking about Terminus Machina of late.
Also, that Deus Ex 4 "Mankind Divided" is coming out soon so there might be another bump in DX interest so I figure I better get a headstart on brushing up TM before people who just reinstalled / installed DX come looking for mods. :)
How harsh is the hunger mechanic? Like, how much time do I have from full health to death if I don't eat?
It depends on the difficulty setting but at the normal difficulty you should have at least half an hour to an hour.
The game at the harder difficulty settings is pretty damn tough by all accounts, though. Partly due to hunger, and partly due to the fact the AI will actually chase you around the map, or bomb you with drones. Where you could get through vanilla Deus Ex with a pure fighting strategy, it's basically impossible to take the enemies on through combat alone. It requires some creative problem solving :)
Thanks, an hour sounds fair.
The nasty thing about a hunger mechanic is that I'd be constantly stressed out to figure out the basic mechanics and navigation, resulting in trial and error gameplay that I'm not fond of, but an hour of mercy time should be enough time to grasp it all.
I got killed in the first 20 minutes. Any hints?
You have to find food first or you'll die. You can eat such things as animals, plants, and that lady near the broken down van in the beginning will give you some food if you help her out. :)
Set the game to easy and it will give you more time.
Thank you for you job. I love Deus Ex very much and your mod too.
Works great with the GOG version! Haven't had any problems.
A few funny glitches and that's just about it.
Can't seem to figure out how to grow more red bacteria with the bacterial culture disks?
