Starship Troopers: The 1st Interstellar War is a modification for the game Star Wars Empire at War Forces of Corruption. This is a Beta version and the 1st release for public use.
No, I tweaked the xmls a bit, modified the Blisterwing cruiser and fixed the hardpoints on it. I recommend you delete the alpha version you have and download this one.
I've downloaded the mod, but when I click the shortcut, a small window comes up for a millisecond, before closing. Then nothing happens. What should I do and/or what did I do wrong?
Not knowing the details of what or how you installed it, I can only guess. You need to make sure your FoC is patched to the latest. You need to create a "Mods" folder in the FoC folder (if you don't have one there already) and unzip the "SST_1st_Interstellar_War" folder into the "Mods" folder you just created. You need to make sure that you haven't installed any other mods directly into the FoC "Data" folder as that will override any other mods. If you are sure of these few things, the bat file should work, however if not then download the mod launcher, which I highly recommend. It makes playing multiple mods a lot easier.
I installed the mod launcher, but there was an error, so I then installed the microsoft program, that the read-me said I needed, in case I didn't have it, but that program isn't supported on a 64-bit system! What should I do(again)?
what operating system are you running? The mod was made on a win xp pro 32 bit system. I have no idea how a 64 bit could affect it, if at all, and no way to test it.
Okay, i downloaded the mod, got it working no problem.
I love the federation ships, they are so awesome. i have two concerns. this is the foremost problem, why are the canon sw ships still available for purchase along side the federation and arachnid ships? and it's because of the canon sw ships that i cannot purchase anything higher than an aracnid frigate and the more times i level up the aracnid station i lose the ability to build more aracnid ships because the empire ships are in the way. (meaning the pictures of arac ships vanish because more empire ships become available for purchase)
it's the same with the federation, except most of the fed ships are in the lower bar with only one or two not visible in the top, there could be more for all i know, some worlds based on the available rebel ships i can only see the fighters and corvette on the top bar and the meth. cruiser on some worlds and not others.
second, where are the heroes for the federation? i see a fed ship in the main page battle with the buttons but i can't find nor build it in the GC maps. there's no roger young or any of the other respected ships, but there is the class of the RY.
I've only been using GC i don't really care for the skirmish that's why i haven't tried it yet.
That's why you're having the build issues unfortunately. This is a beta build for skirmish only. Once everything is totally converted, it will be ported into the GC. For now though, none of the GC xml files have been modified but the GC game obviously pulls data from not only the GC xml files but also the skirmish xml files causing a mix. I appreciate the interest but until a later build the GC issue won't be resolved. Sorry.
The SST ships are added to the skirmish starbases and the SW ships are removed. I haven't looked into the GC yet so I can't tell you exactly what xml to modify.
Hi, I have a tiny problem, I have NO sound AT ALL, I have SW:EaW Steam GOLD pack and its up to date and everything, but no sound?! and when I go to the Options in the main menu, the Audio bottun is disabled, this happens with this mod and Battle Star Galactica: Colonial Wars, I bet you guys know but, everytime I want to play a mod, I have to replace all the files in the FoC Data Folder, Meanwhile in original EaW I can use the .bat files no problem, is there a way to do this on FoC to? and yea, help with the sound to please 3: thank you!
I have no idea about the sound. My mod replaces some of the back ground music but to date I haven't heard of any issues. I do know that the issue with the batfile shortcut is related to the version you have. Steam installs to a different directory than the retail version. The shortcut is made for the retail version. I know there are several sites that have posted supposed fixes but it seems hit and miss on if they work. I tend to want to think the sound issue is also related to the steam version however you could try not installing the musicevents.xml when you install the mod. That should bypass the custom mp3s of my mod.
I'm becoming a master Necromancer here... but this mod needs some magic to happen.
I'd love to see this get completed, I read that the author needed help with modelling ground units and such and though I'm very green creating models, I do have and old working copy of ST: Terran Ascendancy from which we could rip some necessary models such as Cap Troopers, Power armors, many kinds of bugs, etc.
I'm also a damn good programmer, if I may say so myself :p, and will gladly help out in any way I can. Also, I'm willing to believe there are other people who would like to see this get done, so Rebelmoon: get off civilian network trooper, the MI needs you!
OMG i've been waiting ages for this... cant wait to try it :]
32 Mb...
What the-?
it's a zip file, that is why. Is this version the same as the beta version?
No, I tweaked the xmls a bit, modified the Blisterwing cruiser and fixed the hardpoints on it. I recommend you delete the alpha version you have and download this one.
ok great. Thanks mate i loved testing this for you, and the alpha version worked pretty darn good, much better than most alphas i bet :)

Re-download it or try the mirror site. Sounds like you didn't get a good download.
do u have to patch it? foc or normal?
killing giant bugs.....my fav. gt any of those machines in it???
If you're talking about the ground units, then no, not yet. But eventually, yes.
do i need forces of corruption? or does it work with just standard empire at war
It's made for Forces of Corruption so yes.
damm. i was looking forward to this. guess i might get around to getting a copy of that then :/
Forces of Corruption adds a few enhancements that make it worthwhile.
It does indeed, however I admit to having gotten FoC to play a mod too XD.
I've downloaded the mod, but when I click the shortcut, a small window comes up for a millisecond, before closing. Then nothing happens. What should I do and/or what did I do wrong?

how would i go about removing the sw canon ships, if i were to do it on my own?
