This simple mod fixes a few sound problems in the vanilla game. The Unofficial 1.3 patch is a requirement, of course. Huge thanks to Marth for extracting and uploading SWBF1's sound effects.
Here's what I've fixed:
- Restored hurt/death VO for Gungans, Tuskens and Wookiees*
- Restored Ki-adi Mundi's VO*
- Fixed Tatooine Clone Wars music
- Fixed ridiculously high-pitched rebel sniper hurt/death VO
- Fixed missing hurt/death VO for Jango and Leia in Hero Assault
- Fixed missing award pistol sounds in GCW space battles
Older versions of this mod restored the faction-specific SWBF1 sniper sounds as well as the SWBF1 Rebel sniper hurt/death VO. However, I've removed those because of SWBF2's inability to load more than a few additional sounds. Hopefully this will fix the 'muted stock sounds' issue for some people. The old version is still included, though, if you prefer it. Oh, and I've added the Renegade Squadron AAT fire sound to the legacy version, because why not.
Version 10 includes an alternate option for those who use Anakin's remastered menus. It's exactly the same, but without the Tatooine music fix, because Anakin includes that with his menu mod and has a much more clever way of loading it.
The old SWBF1 announcer VO is included as an optional addon. Because there was less GC and 'battle chatter' VO in SWBF1, the game might feel a little lifeless if you've become accustomed to the stock VOs... which is why I made it optional. Installation is pretty much the same; just move the "tmv.lvl" file to the same folder as "sds.lvl" and use the lowest numbered userscript possible.
*I hate to steel Rayman's thunder, but SWBF2 has problems loading more than a couple sound files, so I didn't have much choice. His restoration of the miscellaneous chatter VO from SWBF1 is also questionable. SWBF2 has chatter for natives by default, and units talk for too much with all of the "I hear something" sort of VOs restored. I've only added hurt/death sounds for Gungans, Tuskens and Wookiees, because that's all that was missing. FORGIVE ME RAYMAN SENPAI.
What does today's update (v5) add?
Fixed a small issue with the Tusken VO and added in the "Windu/Dooku has entered the battle" lines for the Temuera addon.
After downloading this mod i'm experiencing issues with missing sounds in kashyyk.
Regular modes work fine, but mods like rumble conquest and 1035 suffer from these issues.
It might be causing a problem with those mods, because the sniper and sound fix patches add extra sounds and some mods also add extra sounds and swbf2 has a sound limit, so it can cause a problem. The Temuera Morrison VO will work fine if it's on it's own because it doesn't add extra sounds, it replaces sounds. Try playing Kashykk with only the Temuera Morrison VO, if Kashykk works with just that then it means that the sniper and sound fix mod is the problem.
sadly, you're correct o.o and without swbf2's source code, it's unlikely the memory allocated to sound could ever be adjusted.

It works perfectly with only Temuera Morrison VO, looks like the issue really is the sound fix mod.
Its still a great mod though, and i dont even play kashyyyk that much anyways.

I have just installed this update and wow. I liked the first version , but yeah I did get that sound issue only on the Kashyyyk map and maybe other random explosions ( very rare) but with this new update it seems to be fixed great job. I wonder if you thought about adding the a Droid VO based on The CloneWars show I have seen that on a map mod and would love that for the base game especially the Droid chatter ( it would life to the mod ) to counter balance Tamara Morrison's VO
Think you could replace more of the republic voices with some of Temuera's VO from Elite Squadron? Just so it can add more atmosphere during battles.
Is their a way you could work on a sound mod that replaces just the blaster sounds, explosions, and impact effects. To add more bass kinda like the sounds effects in Dice's BattleFront.

lol yeah that should be fine. however, my swbf1 VO addon includes announcer VO from all four factions. do you think it'd be a good idea for me to provide one which only includes the Republic/Temuera lines?
A standalone Temuera VO mod sounds good. Also, is there a way for you to mix in some of SWBF: Elite Squadron's Clone VOs? I believe it would work well.

Is there a way to keep the BF2 CIS announcer? The mod replaces the Republic announcer and the CIS one.

The SWBF1 sniper rifle sound mod works across every faction, however, it makes the Clone Wars factions lose almost all sound (music and blasters) when played on a modded map where the sides use "Jungle" camoflage (eg. Kashyyck and Naboo Plains)
