Here's a some troubles: can't select some weapons, missing models for sturmgehwer and deagle. Latest patch set up, using smod stanalone (dont know where to get old HL version suitable for your mod)

Personally I haven't touch SMOD Standalone so IDK if it's buggy or not. To find the old HL2 version you go here: Moddb.com

Doesn't helped - Youtu.be. Installed in order - hl2 from g.drive, smod elite, SMOD Elite Patch [DESCENDING], SMOD Elite Patch V2 [FIBONACCI b]. As you can see, world models are ok, except for pulse thing (also bad sprites when shooting), but viewmodels gives error.
The Smod Standalone version on this site seem to be bugged, you'll either have to install this version from BSnooch: Bsnooch.com
Or install the old HL2 version I mentioned.

About model errors. I've looked at files and saw that weapon_custom4.txt links to file "models\weapons\v_1960ar_mat.mdl", which is missing in archives. Same for deagle, and pulse thing. And maybe some other models.
Update. Some models are in "models" folder, but route says they must be in "models/weapons" folder.

Another 3 error. First - when you launch game from stanalone hl2(not smod standalone, nosteam)- you've got this Imgur.com ; smod standalone works fine, and second - when you proceed to this plase Imgur.com you've got CTD, if not kill that thing from safe distance. And CTD on d1_canals_07.bsp

Are these 2 + 3 crashes happen on Smod Standalone or the No Steam HL2 ?
I can't launch nosteam cuz of 1st error. 2nd seems was stached manhacks, killed from safe distance and all fine, and 3rd was because of airboat -idk why, but i've changed level on feet and later spawned boat - no problem. Maybe boat's gun make this problem - but only maybe.
Im in ravenholm now, and, IMO, tau-advent gun underpowered, and secondary firemode made only to harm player, not NPCs.
I've just made a fix to the 1st error in the latest patch. I'll investigate 2 + 3 more.
The Tau cannon's secondary fire should be fire at the ground and away from the player (showed here: Youtube.com)
To increase its damage just open up the console and type: find gauss
You'll then see command to change the weapon's damage

So I'm playing this on steam without using SMOD standalone, and the game was running fine with only a few intermittent crashes and there. Things started getting dicey around RAvenholm and Highway 17. I wonder if this is simply because I'm not using the standalone?
Idk, I've never run it with Steam HL2
Crash error I get is "failed to lock vertex buffer in CMeshDX8::LockVertexBuffer. Does this correlate in your opinion?
This mod is old, it's not compatible with the new HL2 which is why they created Smod Standalone
If you can't install Standalone use the old HL2 version I mentioned

Killing myself to get this thing running on standalone. Finally got it to boot up but all I get is a black screen and I can't for the life of me figure it out. Any ideas as to what it is?

the not precached crash below are at random, I don;t know how to fix it but it rarely happen

Using latest update. Something makes me crash consistently early on in d2_prison_01. Not sure what it is but it's in the beginning when you come out of the water.
Load a save from the before this level start. Usually crashes like this are at random and needed level restart/reload
just asking why dont the scripted sequences dont work like when barney not talking or and stuff like dis

Hey there, i've been trying to progress on the game, so far i cannot finish the last map of ravenholm chapter because of loading crash, i cannot progress on the second map of highway 17 because crash and now i tried to start nova prospekt but it also crash and only when i look to the combine invisible on left cell. Do you have any fix for all of this ?
Try installing the latest patch then lemme know if it works
Highway 17 second map seems to be working but with a new problem, there are some orange wall with name "trigger" all over the map and we can't pass them unless you noclip it. Nova prospekt first map is working perfectly but the second map also have a problem and it make me crash with an engine error "725/ -func_clip_vphisics: UNTIL_SetModel: not precached: *92". I didn't try the end of ravenholm yet but i let you know if this one at least works. (keep in mind, i've reinstall everything with the new smod version with patch in smod standalone)
The model precache problem happens at random but most of the time it's headcrab.mdl for me. If it happen repeatedly try to load a save from before this level is loaded.
The yellow trigger wall shouldn't be visible...Maybe something to do with smod standalone idk, try restarting the map to see if it goes away. If not remove the coast_03.txt (or the map that this is occuring on) from the Mapadd folder then restart the map to see if it works
So i did all you said but no matter what the game still crash with the error on nova prospekt i did like 10-15 times nothing works. As for highway 17 i deleted like you said but now it doesn't load anymore it just crash with no warning. Also the new patch you installed make Alyx invisible is that normal lol ?
Probably has to do with your SMOD Standalone install - I don't have HL2 on Steam so I cant install and test with this.
Try using other smod version like redux 8 or something to see if it works.
Otherwise use the Old HL2 version like most other ppl
If none of those works, try deleting the maps from the the mod folder
Hey dude, i installed the last patch, and i've realized something, i can't grab ammo anymore, and the crowbar doesn't do any damage to crates or planks, any idea why is that?
btw, when i want start the chapter Point Insertion,it start right at the moment barney gives you the crowbar, is that supposed to happen?
Yes.
For the crowbar and ammo issue, delete skill.cfg in the cfg folder
P90 is missing what I believe is the W_p90 (or whatever) texture. So when dropped or on NPCs it's the classic Pink and Black box.
The fix should be in the latest patch now
instructions unclear it does not work. Am i gonna drag and drop onto the sourcemods folder and add the line or on to the mod itself and add the line?
Are you using SMOD Standalone or the Old HL2 ? This mod is old, it doesn't work with Steam's HL2. You have to install one of the two above.
i tried using patch in a saperate folder but it doesnt overwrite anything
The mod folder will overwrite everything so you need to use the patch as a mod folder and the smod_elite should be in the addcontent.txt
Or you could paste all content from smod_elite into hl2 then use the patch as the mod folder. Be sure to make a backup of the hl2 folder before doing so.
