It is that epic time of the year again! That's right, after tireless work and endless deliberations, we are pleased to announce the release of Patch 2.02 Version 8.4.0!
What can you expect from version 8.4.0?
- Intricate focus on bug fixes.
- Balance fine-tuning and unit diversification.
- Audio, graphics and gameplay improvements.
- Rise of the Witch-king 2.02 League platform.
Most Notable Bug Fixes
- Cloud Break stun no longer occasionally stuns enemies for much longer than intended.
- Fix for Buffs such as Warchant not rendering its (yellow) FX when cast on units in fog of war.
- Grand Harvest upgrade no longer grant players +100 Command Points.
- Spells and summons can now be cast beneath upgraded Battlewagons.
- Fortress Fire Drake can now once again heal at the Fortress (requires Dragon's Nest upgrade).
- All Fortress siege weapons can now outrange regular siege.
- Treebeard can longer stealth in mist.
Most Notable Balance Changes
- Several nerfs to Ents and Treebeard.
- Battlewagon Men of Dale nerf.
- Orc Warrior reduced Command Points requirement and base damage buff.
- Banner Carriers and Fire Arrows unit upgrade cost overhaul.
- Fortress cost price changes based on the number present on the map.
- Tower nerfs across the board.
- Extensive experience and command point tuning for single, non-hero units and several types of cavalry.
Most Notable Audio, Graphics and Gameplay Improvements
- Rhudaur Rebels (Angmar Wildmen) now have a new Rhudaur type model.
- Several animation and audio improvements.
- Fellbeasts and Eagles now crash to the ground instead of exploding in the air.
- Player and neutral colour tweaks for improved visibility.
- Heavy Armour and Forged Blades for Orc Warriors.
- Vastly improved AI performance across all difficulty levels.
- Damage output tooltips now available for all units and structures.

Bug Report or Question. In a War of the ring MP campaign neither player can build a fortress, nor can apparently can any of the AI on the field (although Sometime they don't anyway) The fortresses are priced correctly according to the patch notes however they remain grayed out and are not buildable
I am also having trouble. I wanted to replay the campaign and the fortress is greyed out. That provides a massive problem while playing. Please provide a fix for that

Been playing as Angmar and they cannot. With the behavior mentioned below, I've had to deal with a lot of artillery from the AI's and neither the wall or fortress artillery could hit the ground artillery, so it ends up being too expensive and inefficient to build them as they might not accomplish anything before they're lost.
"- Increased Easy and Normal AI economic, special ability and offensive tactic activation probability ratios."
I think this has resulted in weird behavior from the AI. I've seen them send builders all over even near my fortress to get extra resources. And when they get away with it, either because the AI's aren't fast about destroying the structures or because they are defeated, they end up becoming so rich I'd no longer say there is any Easy AI anymore.
I have encountered an issue. Why can I no longer build fortresses in war of the ring?

why when i playing in the Game ranger in this version
after 10 or 20 min game appear a message about the " your version of this game is different" and quitting me from game.
is this the problem cause of unofficial version or what?
in official version i don't have any problem but this version >>quit the game.

Hello, I like your mod very much. Thank you for your contribution to this game. I report a bug with a fly in the ointment. Sometimes when I fight with AI, a team of AI soldiers will be scattered and no longer be hurt. I hope it can be repaired
you whould bring back bulding fortresses in the next version and you should debuff at least easy ai,they get too agressive and too powerful way too quick,i get it ai is not smart they cheat but i still prefer the ai from the base game as it doesnt feel so unapologiticly unfair and rough
I have a desperate question, what is the best Age of the Ring Mod version that can work with the ROTWK Patch 2.0.2 v8.4.0? As I am now in the v8.4.0 version and tried installing the AOTR patch 6.0 I always get an error, now I believe it has something to do with the compatibility of the mod with the patch version of the ROTWK. Please help.
I have encountered a bug, I can't seem to be able to build fortresses in the Angmar campaign. I have the resources, but the building is still greyed out.
I'm a fan of the Lord of the rings, and I have great hope for this game. Although the picture of this game is out of date, this mod gives this game a new life
hello in all version of the patch i am unable to build fortresses in the campaign or war of the ring. Is there maybe a fix for the problem available ?

I recently downloaded patch 2.02 v8.4.0 and everything seems to be working fine including save game except that I can't load any saved games
The saved game begins to load and then an error message pops up which says "Error loading game 'C:\Users\(My User Name)\AppData\Roaming\My The Lord of the Rings, The Rise of the Witch-King Files\Save\(Name of Saved Game).BFME2Skirmish'" then black screen.
Any advice would be appreciated.

Can you please add a file to reduce the difficulty of the AI on easy?
For a casual player like me, even easy in the unofficial patch is quite difficult. What was wrong the base game's easy difficulty?

RotWK Patch 2.02 created by the 2.02 development is perfect thanks for the patch, I have been playing the game since its first days, and my favorite factions are Mordor and Anger for I do love Witchking and Sauron and I usually play with them. I cannot wait to check what is new, so far I have seen Mordor orc archers have been improved, and I know a little trick with something that makes Mordor invincible :)
