Description
The mod is for Shadow of Chernobyl version 1.0006. The "Return of Scar patched.7z" file has all the cumulative patches and fixes for the mod already applied (up to cumulative patch 3 and a few later fixes from the Russian community). Install it first by copying over the bin and gamedata folders to your ShoC install directory. Then install Stalkerstein and Grunter Hunter's excellent translation from the "RoS English v1 by SS and GH small.7z" file by copying over the gamedate folder and merging it with the one you just installed. The "Return of Scar guide.pdf" file is a translation of a Russian guide by, I believe, Grunter Hunter. The orginal Russian guide may be found in the gamedata\!!README!! folder along with other helpful guides. Have fun!

But I having no luck with them.
have played this mod (btw it is a mod for ShoC). I'm not overzealous. The plot is rather linear. There are some new maps but some of the new maps are touched only once (DarkScape, Predbannik, the CoP maps for example). Another new map (Wolfs Lair aka Reconnoiterd Earth) has often to be visited but there are nearly no mutants, artefacts or anomalies. The mod feels unfinished, partly it was boring.
The translation is ok (I have seen better and worse ones, you often have to guess or try and error), the mod runs stable. Wolfs Lair needs to be run with static lighting.

Installed the russian version of stalker to 1.0006 and installed the files in the correct order and got this....

Too late but you answered your own question. Install the english version of stalker.

Having trouble, it crashes on launch of the game, but when I get rid of the gamedata folder it launches fine but its just vanilla SoC
