Can you possibly tell me what is kv_rules_mod_5 and death_animv11, and if there is any reason to extract them/not delete them? obviously if they were neccessary for the units to function they'd be in the db files with the unit's pack file. Possible to add a footnote somewhere about these mysterious extra files and what stats they fiddle with? Thank you. Excited to use these excellent-looking units in my next Revolution era campaign!

None of the files are required to play the mod. They are sub_mods to enhance your play experience. Kv_rules mod changes the projectile physics, morale and fatigue effects to make combat feel more realistic. Death_animv adds a few death animations.

Installation instructions:

1. Download and unzip the files;

2. Copy the *.pack file to your Empire data folder located in:

C:\Program Files(x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\empire total war\data

Use the last version of the Mod Manager or edit the user.empire_script.txt in this folder:

C:\Users\Username\AppData\Roaming\The Creative Assembly\Empire\scripts

Personally, I have not way of testing it with Mac. However, here is a thread with installation instructions for other mods: Twcenter.net

It would be great if you could test some of them and let me know, so that I update the instructions :)

You download a compressed .rar file. Nothing supernatural about that.

Read instructions again. you have to edit user.script in a folder that is generally located in the specified directory.

Focus will be on Britain, US, Spain, France and maybe United Provinces. No plans for any other factions.

I'm assuming this won't work for single-player, correct?

Correct. V1 was meant to be a custom/multiplayer battle only. V2 will be integrated into campaign following the first public release.

No, you don't need any DLC to play the mod. In fact the mod was created to remove the need in using the Elite units of America DLC :D

Let me know if it works.

You mean the sub-mod or the any sounds at all?

Ensure you are following the installation instructions. If it doesn't help, verify game cache on steam.

I can't give you a date as my RL commitments take up most of my time. However, I am currently replacing old custom headwear with new models. New bearskin for the British is complete. Mitre for 1st Delaware and a number of light infantry hats are WIP :)

What is this Mod Manager that seems to be talked about alot? I am new to mods for ETW. Is it something I need to download or is there a way to access this?

It's a tool developed by modders to help community manage the mods easier! It basically allows you to modify the user.script and save multiple combinations of mods! I've used it for years and I definitely recommend it!

Here is the link: Twcenter.net

The thread contains all the necessary explanations.
