This mod fixes a lot of bugs and typos while adding improvements and reworking all weapons. All guns are more realistic and perfectly balanced. The guard mode works more reliably, the accuracy penalty for standing/crouching stance has been reduced and mercs can get more levelups before they reach the levelcap. Traders have better variety of weapons available. Armor penetration of all projectiles has been reworked. === === What's new in 1.83: 3 new ammo types and 9 new weapons have been added to Arulco. Existing weapons have been converted to new ammo types (Type85, 9A-91, VSS...). All traders and containers in Arulco have reworked, more believable content. More reasonable distribution of ammo types across ammo boxes. Compatible with savegames from the previous version of this mod. However, if you want to experience ALL of the new features you will have to start a new game.
Wow you are working like machine, I had time to play like one hour last update
Yep - great to see you still building this :)
I've just felt like giving this game another go after a long time. Luckily I still remembered all the things that annoyed me back then. I gladly will try your mod, seems to me alot of those annoyances didn't only annoy me. Thanks!
Your awesome Killatomate! Last year I downloaded your mod, and really enjoyed it. I just checked back up on it, and you are STILL improving your mod! You deserve a standing ovation for this! This is incredible!
Great mod! A lot hard work went in to this and it shows. Makes the game SO much more playable. If there is another update, can you lower the reward for the DaHonko Limited Edition to say 150k? 1 Million is way too much and throws the whole game out of balance.
I just gave this game a chance the other day, and it has quickly become one of my favorites (I avoided it for years, because everyone said it was terrible, boy are they wrong), I'm super excited that people are still supporting it.
what i understand, your mod is still in development ? i see that some snipers need bipod, while there is no bipod implemented in game... also i have a question, can you do something like connect two attachments ? like silencer and scope ? i mean from visual side of game, as it is easy to modify txt file.
Attachments are implemented in a really wierd way and in addition its all hardcoded. The attachment attributes are tied to the weapon animation. Only a weapon with handgun animation can have reduced noise and only a weapon with rifle animation can have increased accuracy. Sure, you can add more lines to the text file, but it will have no effect (each attachment can only have ONE effect). In addition to that the weapons only have one attachment coordinate (either barrel or rail), so if you create a "scope+suppressor" attachment 3D model it will only be compatible with ONE rifle, not 70 rifles. (if you attach it to the wrong weapon, either scope or suppressor will be floating in mid-air). Also, none of the rifles would have any sound effect, while having maximum noise radius.
Modding this game is like banging your head against the wall. it takes a lot of effort until you see any progress. (and you will have to scrap about 90% of your ideas, because JABIA)
thanks for fast reply, it is a shame that there is no support for modders, it would be great. anyway, thanks for your hard work - i wasnt legged before? lol
Does this mod work properly with language other than english?
If you use a language other than english you will encounter missing descriptions for new items/weapons.
The problem is that Steam prevents me from using any version other than the european version of the game. Other regions (polish/czech/russian/asian) use different language files, but i cannot take a look at those. Making a translation for all of the game's languages is impossible right now, and even if it was possible it would take a tremendous amount of work.
Ok, i thought maybe i could help you with Polish version (although only in translating, and getting language files etc. as i know sh** about modding :D), but you say it would take a large amount of work so the question is how large...
Anyway - if i would want to play this mod, i have to just change game language to english?

i have found a bug for this mod!
after playing this mod for 3 days i have found a bug and this bug sucks, when playing the game and i go to enter a location my pc turns off and i loss all save dater at first thought it was pc being a **** but it only ever happened when entering a location and it has happened 4 times now.
真的是太棒了 居然坚持在更新你的mod。非常感谢
where is danhonko lim. ed. in here ...i believe is a different location in vanilla ...
Da Honko Flakes location is random, just like in vanilla.
Dear mod author, I try to modify your mod for myself. And I wonder how to change enemies behaviour. Can you prompt me with it. Where can I find their perception (mainly how far they can see my mercs), their tending to search for cover, stealth or somewhat other params.
Maybe in private message.
And thanks for great work, it is really exciting... especially when you try to do something by yourself...
will this work with the collectors bundle? also its right what xxlewisjamesxx says about that bug?
The Collectors Bundle is the normal Steam version with DLCs, so it should work fine.
Concerning the crash when entering a location: its probably an ai bug (caused by ai squad), very rare and not mod related. it happened to me once in 700 hours, i simply entered a different location and the problem was gone. People reported the bug in vanilla game, so its most likely not mod related.
Killatomate, just wanted to say I am really enjoying this mod. I have just a few questions so far:
1. Are you still planning on updating this mod at all?
2. Do you know anything about mods for "7.62 High Calibre"? I ask because the game has a LOT of interesting features that JA BIA should have had, such as being able to put on many different attachments for weapons and vehicles.
3. If you are done with this mod, what other mods for other games have you done that I can check out? I really enjoyed the tons of work and effort you put into this game.
4. I read somewhere that there are others mods for BIA that allow you to use mercs from Crossfire. Is this true and is it possible to add them to your mod?
Thank you so much for all of your hard work and dedication to this.
1. i still have a lot of ideas left for this mod, but none of them can be implemented. i have spent a considerable amount of time on this mod and have added as many things as i could. But some things are simply not possible due to limitations. i feel that this game is very difficult to modify, unlike other games. At the moment i am not working on another update.
2. i played 7.62 for a few hours but got stuck due to a glitch with random encounters. The variety of weapons was impressive though. The purpose of my JABIA mod has always been to fix bugs and game mechanics. it was only later that i started adding new weapons. i tried to add new 3D models, textures and sound effects but adding new resources seemed to make the game unstable. Same for Weapon attachments. Nobody could figure out how to mod them. Without these limitations the mod would have so much more content and fixes.
3. i havent published any mods recently. You could try out my Doom mods, they are good quality. And tell me when GTA 5 comes out for PC, i dont want to miss that one.
4. it would be possible to add crossfire mercs to the base game (since they are already in the game files) but making addon content available for non-buyers could cause legal trouble.
Actually just started a Let's Play using your mod. Can check it out here guys: Youtube.com
nice. i like your commentary. you seem to have talent for Let's Plays.
Thank you, sir. I am learning still, never really done Let's plays, but I am enjoying it so far. I hope to get better and more entertaining as I go. :)
Wonderfull mod... The gameplay know is awesome! Good walktrough indeed!
Keep the good work, guys!
Cheers xD
Hi Killatomate! I was using your mod for a year now (finished the game with it for like how many times) your mod's the one i've been comfortable to play with coz i feel the "realism" on it... and on my free time i was like messing up with the numbers on your mod. Just wanted to ask if you've already figured out how to increase enemy patrol size that comes from the palace/maze?
I was thinking that i could add more challenge with the game by adding more patrol spawns, not defender/military spawns per location but for a "random" patrol, or decrease the intervals like sending out patrols every 6 hours or so...
A little late, but thanks a lot for both this and Crossfire =)
Hey! Great looking mod, but how do you install it? I extracted the files into my game folder, and it didnt work, so extracted them into the bin_win32 folder but it still doesnt work. Any help would be great!
thank you for making the game playable! I found this mod while trying to mod Jagged Alliance Crossfire and was only able to complete that game with your mod. Excited to start playing BIA with this one.
