Description

Update that includes an improved Hard mode for both scenarios, where most enemies hit harder and ammo is scarce. To install the mod, delete the old mod_rnd folder (if it exists) then extract the file in the game folder. Inside the mod_rnd folder, you will find the randomizer programs "RE1rndJ" for Jill, and "RE1rndC" for Chris mode. Detailed instructions are included in the zip file.

That's right, the handgun isn't there. Could you finish the seed at least?
This was not intended, but depending on the seed it can be completable still.

Yes , best ending achieved (with original C.Rebirth biohazard.exe) . Knifing hunters and tyrant to save ammo. Look like snake outside 1F east saveroom (stage mansion 2) can't be killed , I was knifing it several minutes and it still alive.

If that does not fix it, download the rando again from this page.

Hey man

was just playing Jill Hard mode rando and had a bizarre seed (Seed# 17172032)

There was 2 shotguns but no shotgun ammo
No bazooka or flame/grenade rounds, only acid rounds
There was an excessive amount of green/blue herb mixes and flamer fuel
There was 3 serums

It looks like the mixed herbs and fuel should have been other ammo but i'm not sure. If you need the seed log let me know :)

That's normal. Randomizer v1.61 Hard Mod won't give you some weapons, ammo and red jew (for magnum gun) . Chris mode won't have handgun , Jill mode won't have g-gun.

Hello sir.
GL, Magnum, and shotgun shells not spawning was intended.
Acid rounds and the second shotgun was not intended.

Even while Chris won't get a handgun, clips/fuel drops help with item balance, that's why there is so many drops.

I wanted to submit some bugs to the Randomizer 1.61 release.

- There is an exploit in the Chris playthrough, you can pick up Jill's weapon in the entrance area several times, although it can no longer be seen, but that only works until you enter a new room, then it doesn't work anymore!

- Don't know if this bug is known or if it is intended to be able to do it at all, but in the Chris playthrough, if you use the musical score, then Rebecca comes and learns to play the song, but then when you leave the room, Rebecca disappears all of a sudden and doesn't appear anymore, maybe that's intentional?

- Then I noticed that if you go back after the plant fight, Yawn spawns in the stairs by the safe room on the east side and gets stuck!

- During the Hard Mode Chris playthrough, unfortunately I had a softlock that apparently couldn't be prevented. Tyrant spawned in the room where the 2nd boss fight against Yawn takes place in the room with the blue piano and the fireplace. The tyrant kills or attacks you in the cutscene, I've tried it several times and the game even crashed on several attempts

- Then in the Chris Playthrough, the plant tendril that comes out of the ground, which you fix with a statue, the plant tendril still chokes you even if the statue is placed on the hole, when you re-enter the room!

These are a couple of issues that caught my eye in the new Randomizer update!

Hello, i wanted to hank you for super great job you doing. Last 3 days i have been playing Chris randomizer and im having great fun. I tried like 5 or more runs already and gonna do more. I would like to share some ideas i manage to find during my playthrough.

Here on forum you typed, that not finding handgun is on purpose and that, finding handgun ammo is something balancing like or what ever. I gotta say, that specially this is kinda annoying. FInding ammo all around that you know you will not be able to use during the whole game is not fun. I havent found a single handugun druing all of my playthroughs. I gotta say. That most of the time you gotta pick that handgun ammo just because in places where herbs are stuck on one spot, you gotta pick things first to be able to pick another. You cant choose item to pick up. Its one by one by the order. For more balancing i would suggest to implement handgun to the randomizer, but if possible remove that 2 clips from box whic garantee 30 handgun ammo every game, that might feel very powerfull. But please dont add magazines without any usage.

Another thing. Having DumDum Magnum and flamethrower is super great idea. Never used FT ever before in my normal runs. But now, thx of your randomizer, i found it to be rly great weapon. Anyway in metter of balancing this weapon is super strong every run. its rly nice finding fuel over the place but problem is, you cant rly load it to flamethrower, because FT becomes with so many fuel when picked up. I think its btweeen 150-240 not rly sure. But I belive its something like that. When you load fuel to this overboost capacity FT, it will reduce the ammount from like 150 to 20 for example. So its not rly worth. I would suggest to reduce FT capacitry when picked up to around 30-50? if its even possible. Its ok to load FT up to ?100? with fuel otherwise you lose ammo. And FT is weapon that carry me the whole game. Rly powerfull. Instead of having such insane fuel to it i would rather have handgun, with less ammo, which would increase the difficulty and most important, makes me feel, that every item i pick is worth of something.
Another thing with FT is. When you enter the underground or cave or how you call it. You can always exchange your flamethrower with another one, that lock/unlock the door, with capacity of 240 fuel in it for free and even 2 times. I would suggest to reduce this ammount by alot if possible. Otherwise it feels kinda OP.

- When returning to the Main house after defeating Plant. I belive i never got anything usefull in Red Gem Room. Making me safe alot of ammo/healers by not going there. Because ofc i always check, save before going there. If nothing usefull i load and skip this part of the game. Most of the time i find there for example 2x hand gun ammo + blue herb. Rly not worth of going there if i cant even use theese items at all. I would suggest to make at least the Red gem item spot worth of checking. Keeping the original Red Gem there, having some weapon in it or one of the Doom books or battery? IDK but not rly having anything from that room rly makes the run easier, when i can jsut skip that part.

-When i enter the Lab, most of the time i immedietly find battery and the key to unlock heliport excape route, giving me possibility to skip whole Lab part even without having heliport boss fight. Not sure if intended, but I think its kinda sad to not going through the whole game. Maybe the key should be optainable only from Wesker death? to force player go to the elevator and face Tyrant? Its up to you tho.

I love not finding ammo to Magnum or Shotgun. Makes these weapons rare and force me think wisely, where to use them. Since they are very powerfull.

There will be one more update where I'll look into the useless ammo issue and replace it with something else, and also reduce the fuel charges. But it won't come soon since I have things to do at the moment.

About key item placements.. if you didn't get anything in the red gem spot, it is because there are a lot of rooms in Mansion 2, and few key items to get, so the chance is not that high. Eventually you'll get something there.
Same with the lab. There is a chance for the key to spawn in Tyrant room, but again the chance is low.

In general, I try to not force key item spawns, because in the long term, patterns become obvious and that's exactly what I try to avoid.
There may be exceptions, like the key card in RE3, which is not random, and I'm thinking on randomizing too. There is no reason to force those fights.
If you still wanna fight Tyrant or explore the lab you are free to do so.

Good Afternoon! I have downloaded the Mediakite version of Resident Evil 1 but I cannot seem to get it it work. The only files in the mediakite version is the Disc Image and have to Mount it so I can actually open the game file. But I cannot copy any files into the mounted image as it says there is not enough space. Nor can I get it to work. It just shows up with some weird symbols and writing. The mod folder is in the mediakite folder with the Game Image file. I tried copying the files after mounting it all into a folder but that did not work wither. Thank You and any advice would be amazing! I followed what the instructions said but maybe something I did not understand.

Hi. You are supposed to copy the game files from the .iso to a folder in your hard drive. Check the re1 rebirth page for instructions on how to install the game.

Then you install the randomizer over it.

so i have the randomizer installed on windows 11 but when i go to launch the application it dosent ask me on the screen if i wanna randomize from the rebirth patch what could i do to fix this? Remeber to choose dev from the resident evil rebirth screen
