01 - Installation for Windows...
>Requirements:
1. GZDoom (tested in Version g4.9.0)
2. A Doom 1 WAD (1.9 or Ultimate Doom work best!),
suboptimal but works: Freedoom Phase 1
3. A Decryption-App like 7-ZIP to extract the files & and a PC
(https://www.7-zip.org/download.html)
>How to install GZDOOM:
1.0 Download the latest GZDoom version from: Zdoom.org
2.0 Dump the files from the ZIP-Archive into a random directory.
3.0 Download a doom.wad (1.9) or the latest freedoom1.wad.
4.0 Drag the doom.wad/freedoom.wad into your GZDOOM directory.
>How to run POOM: Miasma Massacre:
5.0 Drag the poom.pk3 into your GZDOOM directory.
5.1 (optional) Also drag the gzdoom_portable.ini into the directory,
as it contains our optimal graphic settings
(it's preferred by GZDOOM compared to the user.ini).
6.0 Drag poom.pk3 into the gzdoom.exe (IT JUST WORKS !!!)
6.1 (optional) If you have multiple doom games in your gzdoom directory:
Select DOOM or Freedoom Phase 1. POOM: MM won't work with any other doom
engine game.

>ATTENTION!
Due to technical quirks of GZDOOM
we advise you to use the following settings
to get the intended POOM experience.
(Some of the below are necessary, otherwise the mod may break.)
>Recommended Settings:
1. RENDER MODE: Hardware Accelerated
2. CLASSIC TRANSPARENCY: Vanilla (Forced)
3. TEXTURE FILTER MODE: 'None(trilinear)'
4. Anisotropic Filter 16x
5. ROCKET TRAILS: Sprites
6. BLOOD TYPE: Sprites
7. BULLET PUFF TYPE: Sprites
8. Compatibility Mode: Default
9. Particle Style: Square
The POOM download includes a "portable"-ini file which contains the above
mentioned settings and will be picked instead of yours or the default
ini-file/settings. We highly recommend using it!
Just place it into your GZ install directory.
>Recommended GZDOOM Launcher settings:
1. Disable all "Extra Graphics" (Lights, Brightmaps, Widescreen).
2. From our experience the VULKAN Render Option offers a more stable experience
than the default OpenGL. Though it seems anything but OpenGL can crash
low-end machines.

>Speedrunning (requirements) & Gameplay:
1. ALLOW JUMP: Default(coded to be OFF)
2. ALLOW CROUCH: Default(coded to be OFF)
3. But... ALLOW FREELOOK: Default (standard GZD setting ON) !!!
Completing the mod is not possible without freelook.
(We also added a custom "BVB"-Crosshair.)
In contrary the maps were not designed with jumping & crouching in mind
so we disabled it. (Let jumping on/default though,
as the turd-throwing-mechanics rely on it [explanation below]).
Pressing the jump-key (default: SPACE) makes Andy poop out
& throw a log (infinite amount and minimal damage.)
If you possess yellow logs from Steven though, Andy throws them instead.
(Steven-Logs are powerful magic grenades and
are effected by the angle they hit the ground with.)
