DISCLAIMER: "Morrowind Sounds and Graphics Overhaul" (MGSO) is seriously OUTDATED and suffers from many bugs that have not been fixed in the last 7 years. Therefore, we DO NOT recommend to download this mod compilation until a more recent version is released.
If you are looking forward to upgrade the game's graphics, we suggest to follow a modding guide instead.
The first one is easier and allows you to have upgraded graphics faster, while the second one is more in-depth.

awesome
Is this the fullinstall of the released mod?Is the mod done or you work on it for a new release?thx
This mod changes only for the main game or the Add on too and is it compatiebel whit the German GOTY editon?
This would be interesting to know, as I get around 150 errors launching the game after installing the automatic and after reinstalling also the manual way.
It tells me, that a lot of areas are "EMPTY" for some reason.
This seriously ****** up my game, any way to uninstall?
Nope, you NEED to reinstall Morrowind and all of your expansion packs (if you downloaded and/or installed any) and besides it won't take long. The game itself is only around 600 MB
does this work with all the expansions also?
This mod works with all expansions (Morrowind + Tribunal + Bloodmoon)
How about the expansion MOD Wizard's Isle? Does it work with that one too?
I only have Morrowind not Tribunal or Bloodmoon! Does it still work? I love this mod so much!
You need Tribunal AND Bloodmoon in order for MGSO to do its thing.
Congrats on getting to Version 3!
(buried)
Can this be played on the X-Box version via a 360? Perhaps by saving it on the computer and changing the save file extension and loading said save file onto the 360?
in a word, no.
Nope, it can't be played on the Xbox 360, just get it on PC, Morrowind's not THAT much of a resource hog
lol.consoles.lol
i have an older comp that can run the game but im worried if i use this i wont be able to. is there a minimum systems requirement? for this package
G'day all!
I am quite new to all this, yet it seems fascinating! I actually just bought the platinum hits version of Morrowind, yet it does not have the enemy health bar! I figured out that i would have to get the GOTY version, but after some more research and this great website, i will just buy the PC version and try using the overhaul mod. Does anyone know if that mod included a Character Overhaul too so that my character is not like a walking stick with ice skates on?
-thomas :)
Would you be able to add this mod to a steam version of the game. If you can, how would you do it?
You can, it's fully compatible with Steam (MAKE SURE TO DISABLE IN-GAME UI OR YOU WILL HAVE A BLACK SCREEN.)
Copy ALL files directly to your Morrowind folder within Steam, and install just like you would with vanilla.
how do I disable in-game UI?
I am new to modding, how would I install this?
Thanks.
Hey, is it possible to move our old morrowind characters to this mod? Ive never modded an elder scrolls game and i just started a new morrowind character without the mod.
yes
i love this game and this mod just makes it brutal
Looks awesome! Download with caution, though; my antivirus program found Trojan.backdoor on it.
super mod im download repack Morrowind Overhaul 3.0!
I have an AMD FX-9370 at 4.8ghz, a Radeon 7970ghz at 1.1ghz and 16gb DDR3 ram.. a very fast pc by any means. This overhaul although fantastic, just kills my framerates. Up and down for no cause. I can stand in the same spot without moving and my framerate jumps from 40-8-30-9, but mostly stays low and unplayable.
You can set it for a slow pc, which makes it playable, but the framerates are still over over the place. I'm using the 13.9 drivers, gonna try the reliable old 13.4's to see if there is a difference. For the record my old Phenom 965 (3.4ghz) and Radeon 6990 (which unfortunately burned out) had higher framerates than my new system.
Is there a way to change settings after full installation without reinstalling?
from what ive heard there is a MGO Options.exe somewhere in it that you can change setting in
You can modify your MGSO install without having to reinstall Morrowind completely.
I can't get rid of missing plugins on loading..:( can you advise what should I do? thanks
Never played Morrowind before, mainly because of the dated graphics. Now I am looking forward to exploring the land of the Dunmer for the first time.
Does this work with mac?
does this still work if you downloaded the game on steam?
I don't see why it wouldnt, as long as you've installed it properly
Yes, you just need to point it to your Steam folder, not the Bethesda folder. Once everything you need is placed there, it is all guided.
Can someone tell me what the system reqs wil be after installing this? Cuz my toaster isnt the best...
Thanks!
I have the french version, will this mod turn the voices to english ?
No
This looks very nice.
Is this save game compatible? I Don't want to start all over again and waste my 400 hours or gameplay.
After the initial cutscene i just get a black screen. Does someoene know how to solve this?(I De- and then Reinstalled Morrowind befor I installed the mod)
I'm getting this error message every time I try to install MGSO_3.0_Final.
"Your Morrowind installation doesn't have all the requirements to install Morrowind Overhaul. See the reports on this page and do what's needed to meet the requirements. When done re-run the installer!"
I have a clean, new install from steam with both expansion packs. My rig runs Skyrim just fine, so what's wrong?
How many of you had errors when installing and how many of you didn't? (By this I mean downloading the mod -was it difficult etc.- and the actual usage of it -did it work well or did it screw up the game.-)
It doesn't mess up anything usually. (I have had a few game crashes but that can be easily fixed) It's perfectly safe.
ty mod DB ;D
I have a problem : at the step launch the launcher my mouse didn't move.
Same problem here. Waited about 30 min after extraction - no luck. Ctrl+Alt+Delete makes mouse move again, but I can't complete the installation process anyway.
Fixed it, here is instruction:
1. Install Morrowind
2. Unpack "MGSO_3-0_Final.rar". Copy unpacked files to Morrowind folder
3. Run the file "Data.exe" in Morrowind folder. The unpacking process will start.
4. In Morrowind folder create empty file "MOInstaller.ini". Add the foolowing lines to it:
[Extraction]
Installed=1
5. Run the installer "MOInstaller.exe" with administrative permissions (Run As Administrator).
6. Skip (Next) the extraction process.
