Would it be possible to make this work with GMDX? Mostly concerned about keeping the changes to gameplay and maybe the maps if possible?

Probably not yet but we're working on it.

1.0 was all about getting the content completed and available to play. Next step is working to increase our compatibility with other mods, especially overhauls.

Thanks for your interest!

Compatibility with Revision and GMDX should cover most bases!

This is fantastic! I'm gonna wait until the GMDX version releases, cause I refuse to play any other way nowadays, but I'm excited to go through again :)

What a treat! The dub is stellar. This also very refreshing for all the DX veterans out there who have played the game countless times.

May I ask for an "installer/uninstaller" for the next iterations if possible? It would make things much easier for beginners, rather that fiddling with ".ini" files.

Anyways a thousand thanks for the hard work, Team.

Nothing mentions this that I can find, but even a fresh install won't work with this mod if you've installed Kentie's Launcher in the past, as the launcher stores settings elsewhere that aren't deleted when the game's uninstalled. You have to delete the Deus Ex folder in documents on your computer as well.

It is mentioned in the installation guide (that we admittedly could have advertised better) but thank you for making that note here. You do have to modify the .ini files the Kentie launcher put into your user\documents folder.

The intro is already a highly questionable, spoilerific inclusion in the original game, but the addition of the gender change of the clone nails it in, and so does your character walking in the intro. I thought it was meant to be JC as he's growing, so it doesn't make sense for JC to be there, and obviously Paul's still a guy so it's not him. It could also be interpreted as Alex D in the tube who may be a guy, so it should've been left as it was, imo.

We debated this. It was kind of a no-win situation for us since, as you state, the male gender is used for the ambiguity. After some research, the wiki states that JC did have a childhood. The JC in the vat is supposed to be JC getting augmented, not born.
As far as spoilers go, we would have left it the way you suggest if it was if this was a new game. As it stands, it's 21 years old. We prioritized the accuracy over what could be considered a spoiler.

Was v1.0 based on vanilla or Confix version of dialogue files?

It's based on vanilla. The next version will have Confix files ported over.

Some update. My God! I’m having so much fun with this mod.

The attention to details is much more thorough than I noticed on my preliminary playthrough.

Everything falls into places, the beautiful hands, the outstanding new model, the out-of-this-world voice acting, her dedicated "barks", the sound when she dies, etc. They are even interactions with new NPCs and unique props (like that unique doorbell in Hell’s Kitchen) that I’ve found very welcome.

It’s almost perfect, the only thing that I’ve found so-so was the sound when Lady Denton takes "Gas Grenade damage", I’ve found a bit jarring. But I’m just knitpicking, really.

On a side note, I’ve tried your mod with the OpenGL enhanced render by Chris Donhal (it’s hasn’t been updated in ages, I know) and it works flawlessly. Just a heads-up for all the OpenGL Lovers out there.

Dammit! I’ve stopped playing a modern game and can’t stop firing up your mod whenever I have some spare-time.

Please Team, keep updating your Baby, you’ve hit gold with this mod, and made a long-time DX veteran very very very happy. A toast to you!

Not at the moment, but we're focusing on mod compatibility for version 1.1

This mod is awesome!
You added a possibility that should have been 20 years ago.

I wonder, when will this mod be compatible with Revision?

We can't say if or when for certain, but we're hoping to maximize mod compatibility for version 1.1, ideally with Revision included. We are hard at work on it.

Please make this compatible with Kentie's Deus Exe! I can't play without the borderless windowed feature of that mod.

It is compatible as long as you ensure that the .ini files are correct. Kentie's launcher installs necessary .ini files in a different location and these need to be manually replaced. There's a guide for how to do so in the install document. However if it's still a problem even after correct ini placement, that would be good to know.

When played with Joe Wintergreen's Lipsync fix mod, the fix from that mod works for every NPC but JC herself. She still have robotic mouth movements.

That's something that the devs of the lipsync mod would need to address, as we don't know how their mod works. We'd be willing to work with them to make it happen, though. Please reach out to any devs you would like to work with us to facilitate compatibility!

had kenties launcher, replaced the files in Documents deus ex folder rather than system; how i'm supposed to. nothing worked.

got rid of kenties launcher, replaced the main system files of the game. still had a male jc both times, dont know what went wrong

edit: tried your advice on running from the .exe. think that solved the problem. thx
