Section 1: Introduction
This download contains a set of files that replace the some of the lower quality audio files in the Windows port of "Blood Omen: Legacy of Kain" with those from the original PlayStation release.
The folder titled "Blood Omen HQ Sound Patch" is what is used to patch the audio files.
A modified version of patch_pillbig.bat is used so that that the Command Line can be run as an administrator without needing to launch the Command Line as an administrator before using the patch.
I've included a modified version of bigfile_unpack_oggsounds.bat called bigfile_unpack_wavsounds.bat that I used to convert all the audio files to .wav format.
I've also included a folder titled "bigfile audio PS to PC" with .wav conversions of the audio files that are replaced.
A copy of the latest version of Blood Pill as of writing this readme, version 1.1, as well as the source code is included.
To know the differences of the sound files replaced, go to Section 3.
If I missed anything major, then please let me know.
Section 2: Instructions
Step 1: Extract the folder titled "Blood Omen HQ Sound Patch" wherever you want.
Step 2: Go to the directory that you installed "Blood Omen: Legacy of Kain". If you used CubanRaul's installer, it should be located at "C:\Games\KAIN".
Step 3: Go enter the folder titled "kain" in the game's directory and copy PILL.BIG directly into the folder for the sound patch.
Step 4: Make sure to make a backup of PILL.BIG in case the patch fails to work.
Step 5: In the folder for the sound patch, right-click on patch_pillbig.bat and run it as an administrator.
Step 6: After running the patch press any key to close the Command Line window and copy the patched PILL.BIG file back into the "kain" folder in the game's directory.
