A quick tweak for the ghost cleanup system: it makes the AI see ghost units in the player's country, so the player doesn't need to wait years for the fix.
The checksum for this release is EANV.
I have been getting this issue as well. Install on Steam, running 3.04 through steam, have WNVU checksum on Vanilla but obtain checksum LSBY when using this version of HPM. I also get the same checksum as another commenter using the original release (0.4.5), which is BMAF. I've gotten to 1973 as Germany, formed Greater Germany and just started building Panama and Suez canals, however my game crashes whenever I try to open the diplomacy panel.
It's unfortunate, but don't let this take away from my gratitude to arkhometha for all of their hard work in making this great mod ; it's been a very fun game either way! Hopefully this can get fixed!
I've ran a couple games with this hotfix and I noticed that the Argentinian war for control over Corrientes always ends as normal and Corrientes is annexed except the war still appears in the current wars slot and shows it as a "complete victory" and the Argentine Confederation is at war and mobilized against a country that doesn't exist anymore. Not sure if it's a vanilla bug but it happens exclusively with that specific war in this mod with this particular update.
Just want to say I have the same problem with this hotfix, ran 4 games up til 1900 now and the Argentinian war doesn't seem to end, even though Corrientes is fully annexed. Argentina stays mobilised throughout the whole game.
I uninstalled and reinstalled the game and the mod + minimods and Argentina has formed as normal after experiencing the bug. Try that and see if it works.
I'm having some trouble tracking that bug down too - everything is as it should be. I'd love to hear from the people who have it if they tried upgrading from an old patch and their HPM checksum.
I just reinstalled and everything is working now as well. Thanks though! Appreciate the dedication. Maybe warn people that some bugs may occur from time to time without reinstallation? I know there was a time where the ACW didn't work for some until they reinstalled the game and mod.
It's more or less what the Checksum is there for - it tells you if your mod version is on parity with the one I just released. If the Checksum is wrong, then it's likely there's something wrong with your version and you will see these kind of bugs that I can't fix because they happened because of a bad install or wrong vanilla version.
I really need to write down the Git-Wiki entry about this to inform people better on this.
Good idea. I'm enjoying these updates, great stuff. I was wondering if you have any idea when you're gonna be finished with the development of the mod. Do you have a plan for how much content you'd like to add before you feel completely satisfied?
Is the East India Company minimod updated to the newest HPM? I know you don't necessarily test it, but is it compatible? It is in the mod and such. Debating whether I should enable it. Amazing work by the way!
I'm experiencing the same issue guest was. It seems that conquering no longer gives research points like it used to. (I was under the impression that you receive research points from conquering as long as the target has 10% or more civilization progress)
One other issue I noticed after playing a few games as shogunate and imperial is that certain decisions are now locked to both.Playing as Shogun there was always an option to have power pass to the Emperor after the Boshin War and the passing of the Meji Constitution/reforms. But atm is seems that Shogun Japan can only pass decisions up to "Peace with the Emperor" with any further ones not shown. (Ending up with situations where your #1 Great power in 1900's but your still "Shogunate)
Hey, I've found a rather big issue. For whatever reason, Central American states are able to get projects to build a Clothes Factory, which requires Machine Parts once it gets to building a Clothes Factory. No machine parts are being produced at game start, which means these countries are spending hundreds to thousands on things that don't exist, probably bankrupting them multiple times over once their "Unrecognized nation" modifier goes away.
I only realized this because I was still Liberal after I conquered Nicaragua, and I immediately lost all income until I realized that they had started a clothes factory, and that the Machine Parts cost had inflated to nearly 61 per machine part.
I'm in 1923 in my current game and fascism never appeared as of yet. Also, it seems there's no warfare among the AI - it's been about 10 years since any European power went to war. Are these bugs?
Hello. When playing with the Argentinian Confederation, about February-May 1840, when the Urquiza event strikes, the game freezes, closes and immediately jumps to desktop as if nothing happened, when I pick the decision that makes Entre Ríos stop being a substate of mine. Any solution for this?
I was playing with Argentina recently with an older version of this mod and nothing strange happened.
Hello! I have been enjoying this mod so far. A word of thanks first. Now, I was trying to dismantle the Netherlands and get Indonesia, yet it is given to countries who wasn't in the War at all. After a quick look into the files I found that a country can get the dismantle country modifier as long as it has a truce with the dismantled country. This results in unrelated countries getting colonies. I wonder if something can be done, like adding some tags to identify who are in the war, or maybe removing truces when the country is dismantled?
Question about Gold Rush event. It happened to me in Königsberg as Prussia, producing 90 income in the province and 270 (3x90) in budget!!! Is it WAD or some kind og a bug cause it is twice the tax income of my all pops...
edit: probably event 1101, Konigsberg has no province modifier.
So found out that it depends on precious_metal_mine / precious_goods_market value which is set to 3. That makes that 3x modifier. And it also affects base production. Why is it so high, what would change if I lower it to 2 (as in vanilla).
I installed the mod and got the correct checksum. This mod is amazing! but as others mentioned there's one bug. The Argentina VS Corrientes war never ends even if Argentina already achieved 100% war score. It keeps Argentina in the mobilization until the end of game.
I don't know how, but this mod did never work on my computers. When I launch it, it's just vicky 2 3.04, but with some features.
I don't have the 1815's start, just some events of the mod and the map. Even the Checksum is wrong.
I've downloaded dozen of time this mod, reinstaller dozen of time Vicky, but nothing work as mentioned here.
Excellent work! I am digging the wiki as well. Is this the last update we can expect for a while?
I've gotten different checksums for the last three releases with no corruption of any of the game files. Any ideas?

I also have this exact issue. 3 Friends report LSBY, whilst the 4th has the correct version.

I also get this problem. Might be just base HPM but I also have the culture split and Israel minimods if that could be the problem for some reason.
Thanks for the report, I will take a look and fix it!

Will you add the Kazakh Khanate?

The decision to become Japan has a line that requires you to be a 'ghost country'. Delete that line and it should be fine.
it's a bug in the game. This is a great mod but unfortunately it has bugs.

Crashes immediately when choosing a nation.
How do I enable auto elections? I saw this as a feature and it's always been one of the annoying parts of playing vic 2

I mean flag, not tag.

I've had trouble downloading this on my macbook pro. Is there actually a way to properly download?
**For the people who are having trouble with the game checksum**
IT ONLY HAPPENS IN THE STEAM VERSION AND I DON'T KNOW WHY

If you need help with research or felt like some event deserves more attention I can look into that.
Download doesn't work?

Still randomly hard crashes after checking the requirements for one of the decisions, this has been a problem for ages :l
