BACK AGAIN FOR ONE NIGHT ONLY! Well, the next version is up and running so LOOK INSIDE!
IIIt's baaack!
First of all,
thank you to everyone that tried the first version. I really appreciate it guys as well as the feedback I got. Believe it or not, you do have an influence on my design process. This game is for all of us. OK, most of us I hope.
"So what can I expect?" New rooms, new hazzards, and this time SOUND! Hahaha! Really facepalmed myself the last time....
"So it's like a proper level this time?" Umm...yes....with sound and stuff that other games have?
"And the last one kind of dragged and wasn't clear enough. Just saying." Definite changes were made. I'm not saying anything here, obviously, but clarity about what you need to do and where to go were definitely top priorities when I was designing everything.
"Cool. Let's get sta-" Hold on a sec. I can rattle off that this is an improvement and how much better you guys will like this version. But that's the bare minimum of what a developer should tell you. That's not me.
"What do you mean?" It's my goal that every iteration of my game should be different from the last. Not just better, but different.
"How is it different?" This iteration has another idea in it. This one actually has a puzzle in it. Like I said before, I want to make it as obvious and clear as I can. That was goal number one with this iteration. But puzzles can only be so obvious before it's not a puzzle anymore.
"Weren't the puzzles the other stuff like moving the box?" Uuggh, I had nightmares about that box decision...but that's not what I mean. This one's different. That sentence in the game description, "Not a puzzle game but the puzzles will save your life?" This is where that idea will be tested.
"Hmm. Ok." Don't worry the puzzle isn't suppose to be integral to the room like last time. And solving it comes with a reward!
So how do you play this thing?
Just like last time you unzip the folder "HALv1.1" and stick it into your maps folder of what ever Half-Life 2 version you have.
Now there is no .exe that will do this for you. Sorry guys but this isn't an option yet. But like last time, there is a ReadMe.txt file in the zip file that has step-by-step instructions on how to manually plop the .bsp map into your maps folder. Again, there is no .exe program yet.
"I played it and it sucks."
Please! Pretty please!
