We have been focusing mainly on the viewmodels and animations, however we have not stopped working on all the other aspects of the mod that we continue to add and polish. Here is a breakdown of some of the highlights:
- Added Alyx's pockets (not available on Steam Deck yet)
- Improved collision in various levels so players cannot skip areas
- Unsupported mods no longer crash the game when going back to the main menu
- Added new supported mods (see the next section of the article)
- Improved viewmodel sway and bob
- Improved interactions throughout all levels
- Easier to use ladders
- Crash fixes
- Steam Deck stability improvements
- And more!
The biggest part of the new update includes the use of Alyx's pockets just like in the VR version! You can now stash items such as health syringes, reviver hearts, combine batteries and more!

Installation
Install the official launcher for easy updates.
You can also get the NoVR Map Edits addon for smoother traversal and less out of bounds glitches.
Controls
To change the controls/rebind buttons, edit game\hlvr\scripts\vscripts\bindings.lua in your main Half-Life: Alyx installation folder.
If you get stuck try to move back or crouch! In case that does not help you can enable noclip with V.
Keyboard and Mouse
Left Click: Select in Main Menu/Throw Held Object/Primary Attack
W, A, S, D: Move
Space: Jump
Ctrl: Crouch
Shift: Sprint
E: Interact/Pick Up Object
F: Flashlight (if you have it)
H: Cover your mouth
F5: Quick Save
F9: Quick Load
M: Main Menu
P: Pause
V: Noclip (if you get stuck)
C: Console

Old installation method
If the launcher doesn't work, then you can try the old installation method:
Copy the game folder into your main Half-Life: Alyx installation folder (e.g. C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Half-Life AlyxThen start the game with the launch options -novr -vsync

I can't run this mod. I can see the game launching and entering the menu, but I don't have any window to interact with other than a small frame with the name hla. Alt tab and alt enter do nothing. I've tried adding a custom resolution in the launch options, but I still don't see the proper game window.
my weapons and crosshair are not showing up unplayable after 30 seconds i cant jump crouching and sprinting is fine help please

Once I got license cards for doors the blue and yellow ones, I can't drop them anymore to be able to store liquid physics syringe, what to do ??

For the dev I have some questions about the mod so far. I installed it using the launcher but it doesn't appear that the launcher is on the latest script update, since it mentions being able to use alyx's pockets (which I can't do in my game), either just picks up the health or uses it instantly. Also when I click on the "install/update no vr" it just bring up the extraction process so I'm unsure if that's meant to happen. Am I going to have to download the latest script update and have it overwrite any files in the main folder? I hope to hear back about these issues/questions I'm having, thank you! Also even if the gnome achievement is not working I'm still committed to taking him so far :)
