Goreagulation, a gorepunk stylistic total conversion, is now RELEASED!
Goreagulation is now released! This is the first full release of the mod and features the following:
- Four levels
- Two endings
- Six weapons
- Many custom assets, including new models for non-zombie enemies
- Original VO
- New voices for the Gorebine
- Secrets to be found in every level
- 30-45 minutes of playtime, with a decent bit of replay value
Goreagulation runs on Mapbase but all the necessary files for Mapbase to function are already included so you do not need to download it separately. Goreagulation does however also run on Source SDK Base 2013 SIngleplayer. To install:
- Download SDK BASE 2013 SINGLEPLAYER
- Right click on the SDK Base in your library, and go to properties
- Go to Betas and set the branch to "upcoming"
- Allow the SDK to update
- Place Goreagulation into your Sourcemods folder
If you dislike the vignette, you can turn it off with P, or enable it with L!

The mod either gets a pink-black checkerboard texture across the whole screen or crashes consistently around the area where you kill the first combine dude.
I'm restarted a bunch of times but can't really progress past that area due to being blinded or crashing.
Hi, can you try redownloading and reinstalling the mod? I’ve not seen either problem happen yet after quite a bit of testing and a few public streams I watched so inclined to think your installation might be corrupted. Alternatively, are you playing on any unusual hardware (AMD card and/or integrated graphics, non-Windows OS, etc) which might not be accounted for?
Hardware should be okay, and I reinstalled but kept getting crashes or the pink texture throughout the mod in random areas. Hopefully it's just on my end..
But anyway, I powered through it and finished the mod. It was a blast! I loved the visuals most of all!
Sorry to hear those issues couldn't be troubleshooted - I haven't seen anyone else report the issues yet so I'm hoping it was a fluke, though if it occurs again I'll aim to seriously diagnose why. I'm glad you enjoyed the mod anyway!
I'm playing the mod and experience random crashes too. First two crashes seemed to happen when combine soldiers were spawned (after the very first one). Second crash happened in chapter two when I launched an SMG grenade at a pair of combine soldiers standing next to each other.
Restarting mod helps, but random crashes still happen, seemingly corellating to combine soldier models, or whatever else these npc's have.
UPDATE:
This happens, actually, any time when a new NPC model is loaded. I've experienced crashes when fast and poison zombies appeared first. Which is very strange, because their models were unmodified.
It seems Source decided to act up fore some obscure reason.
Fluke crashes have been reported here and there - Goreagulation is really pushing things to the limits in terms of details in some places so it might be a little bit of Source instability. If you get a consistent (i.e. persists regardless of reloading the mod) crash somewhere though, please report it + the steps leading up to it as there's one or two actual reproducible crashes I'm currently aiming to fix.

Please read the installation instructions, particularly in regards to downloading SDK BASE 2013 SINGLEPLAYER and then setting the branch to Betas in the properties tab.
Very quake-esque
I keep crashing around the area where the first flesh combine is killed. I loaded an auto save and it crashed as soon as I encountered the same area I went through with the zombies.
Only way to progress is to constantly quick save and press through, the problem doesn't persist for long after you get through that part.
Also, the performance in the final battle is kind of bad and made my game stutter a ton.
Excellent mod though! I love the story and atmosphere it had, loved seeing some the standard HL2 weapons and enemies get distorted into disgusting flesh creatures/figures!
