Here's the new version of Genghis Khan: Total War. I managed to make it mod folddered. It's mean the mod won't overwrite the original game anymore. Beside I managed to solve one of the major lagging problem too. Cheer.

This is essentially the original mod and campaign from Genghis Khan TW. The campaign files have been cleaned up enought to be ported; it does not mean that the original campaign is complete, balanced or without its own bugs. That said, it should be enjoyable enough to playtest. If anyone finds any issues or has suggestions, please let us know. Modding is a lot of work, and it is easy to overlook stuff we may have missed or introduce our own bugs as well. We may be able to improve the mod further with your help.
That also said, we have further plans for a new and better campaign map as a long term goal. Improvements to the unit rosters and textures are also being looked at. There are still a lot of texture files in the original version that may not have been actually used by the mod. Trimming the mod to just files needed for the gameplay should also be an ideal goal to reduce the overall size of the mod.
Installation:
- Download the Zip file
- Unzip the download file
- Upon extracting you will receive a folder named "MTW 0.16 5-9-2016". Please change the name of this folder to "mongol"
- Copy or move the "mongol" folder to your Rome Total War installation in the 'bi' folder.
NON-STEAM USERS:
- Create a shortcut to your RomeTW-BI.exe file. Right click the shortcut, click properties, shortcut tab,
copy in the following to the Target line: -nm -mod:bi\mongol -show_err
Example:
"C:\Program Files (x86)\The Creative Assembly\Rome - Total War\RomeTW-BI.exe" -nm -mod:bi\mongol -show_err
- Launch and Play!
STEAM USERS (cause mod folders work on Steam):
- Right click Rome:Total War in your library, click properties, set launch options, copy in the following: -nm -mod:bi\mongol -show_err
- Click OK. Launch Rome: Total War Barbarian Invasion and Play!
NOTE: If you find the mod lagging then I highly suggest you to use the LAA patch here: Moddb.com
CHANGELOG Version 0.16 (Current version):
- Complete removal of Roma Surrectum environtment
Reason: The incomplete integration of Roma Surrectum environtment caused severe lagging to the game so I removed it. The re-intergration of Roma Surrectum environtment would be consider in the future
- Change the animation of Trebutchet to vanilla Onager
Reason: The removal of Roma Surrectum environtment tragically removed the mod's Trebutchet texture (just blame my lack of knowledge :< )
- Adjust the location of the custom battle

This is custom battles only version. DO NOT try to start a campaign, it won't work, it has not been ported from the old buggy version. Currently using vanilla map locations for custom battles.

i have an issue, i have download the mod and do the way that the instruction show me how to install the mod but went i choose a faction and start the game and crash, it said missing file again ,again ,again i don't know how should i do next ~~ so please fix it fast , i want to try this mod so bad that i want to die T_T

oh i have found the issue so thanks for the replied but hopefully you would fix the campaign i play it for some time and in that some time i play it it crash and shown up with the unresponse how frustrated this was for all the effort i have done and got the mightiest army in the game it crash just like that so sad that i want to said out lound OOH **** :D
I don't see any 'mongol' folder in the zip file
Well it's seem I changed the foldder name to "MTW_v0.16_5-9-2016"
To fix it, simply change the name of the extracted foldder to "mongol" and follow all the instruction within READ ME.txt

I am sorry because my english is not good. i have an issue, i have download the mod and do the way that the instruction show me how to install the mod. And when i lauch the mod, it said generic error: could not read file:data/descr_strategy_lighting.txt
My friend, this is the sole reason I would get Rome 1 Remastered. If you have the time and would like to, I can't imagine how many people will be SOOOOOO happy if you made this mod in R1R. Imagine being able to make this mod with literally as many factions and regions as you would like.
I hope you get to read this because if you chose to make this mod for R1R, it would essentially be THE "Total War: Asia". Yeah sure we have official titles with Japan and China, but what Total war mods will have those plus Tibet, Central Asia, Siberia, Iran, India, and (mainland and maritime) Southeast Asia all on one map? This Remastered mod would literally be the sickest **** ever and I'd even be willing to pay you for your work.
