can anyone provide me an copy of SDK2006?

Dont worry 'bout buying anything, Source SDK 2006 is free, first off start steam then go into your games Library, then find ontop of the library section a little pannel that switchs your library from games to tools. Once you found it make it show your tools, after this type in your search bar "Source SDK 2006" after finding it out, download it. After its done rightclick on it then click Properties, now go into the Beta section, click on the first button then set it to "Upcoming" after that you are now done and ready to play your Mods! Note: The installation process is the same for Source SDK 2013 supported games too.
Might be late, but go on steam. At the top of the games list will be a bar with "games" on it. Click on it and then click on tools. Type source into the source bar and there should be sdk 2006 along with two others
Technically, this is not pirating Garry's Mod since the first 9 versions of Garry's Mod were free. Downloading Garry's Mod 10-13 unofficially would be pirating since those versions costed money.

3. it will drop down
4. tick the box called "tools"
5. then in your steam library search source sdk 2006
6. click on it and press install it will briefly install
7. then go on this page and click the pink download now button
(i won't show you how to install this just because) Note: at the start
theres a window showing the download directory copy and paste that.
8. once the sdk is done installing and the garrys mod installation is completed right click on source sdk 2006 and select properties, go on launch options and type: game-(whatever you copy and pasted from earlier)

This isn't "free gmod" you need Half-Life 2 to play this
No you do not... You just need the Source Base from 2006 which is free to download.
But where? man i've spent 45 Hours inf idning this SB2006
go to steam then clicklibrary then games then check tools and find Source SDK and Source SDK 2006. install both and you're done! :)

how do I install the mod if I'm a pirate?

You need Source SDK 2006 to play this, and since SteamPipe update back in 2013 broke stuff, you may have to fix gameinfo.txt manually.
