This is an example file that showcases how to create a rotating door using the func_rotating entity. Created by INTRUDER.
To make a func_rotating_door, first make your door brush and give it a texture and the deselect it by hitting escape and then make another small brush which will be your hinge known as the origin brush, this is what your door will rotate on, so make a brush 2 grid blaocks high by 1 grid block wide and apply the origin texture to it and place it at the point of the door you want it to rotate at(it must touch your door brush, look at my example if your not sure of what to do) and with it still selected go to the misc button thats along the top of the editor and click it and click on find brush and it will come up and show you, entity number 0 and brush number 0, at brush number type 1 and click ok and now your origin brush and door brush should both be selected and highlighted together , now right click anywhere on the grid and the eitity menu will come up and there go to func and click on func_rotating_door and now you door brush and origin brush will become a func_rotating_door. Now hit the N key and the properties will come up for your func_rotating_door. Now type at the key line "distance"(no quotes) and then hit the tab key and it will move to the value line and type 96 and hit enter, what you just did was to tell the door how far to swing open at 96 it will open all the way, at lesser values it won't open as much. Now the default speed of the door is 100 and if you want to make it faster or slower you would type at the key line "speed"(no quotes) and then hit the tab key and type at the value line 200 and hit enter and the that door will fly open when activated or a lesser value would make it slower. Now hit the N key again and the properties will close and then hit the escape key and the func_rotating_door brush will deselect. save your work and do a bsp no vis and then load it up in SOF and check it out. Now I have included an example of a func_rotating_door map that you can load up in your editor and see what it looks like as far as the size and placement of the origin brush and its relationship to the door brush. And there is also a func_rotating_door bsp which you can load into SOF and see how it works in the game..
