A simple morgh's editing that changes Ashigaru Spear and Skirmisher so they use more half cuirass and generally look a bit more different than samurai
I have created a simple submod tweaks for Gekokujo 3.1 Sugoroku, it's a simple morgh's editing that changes Ashigaru Spear and Skirmisher so they use more half cuirass and generally look a bit more different than samurai (Elite Spears now no longer has 100% chance of having a Zunari style helmet, and Veteran Spearmen will still use Jingasa)
Another thing is I tweaked (or maybe fixed) Ashigaru Skirmishers as they have a somewhat weird proficiencies, for example Chosokabe Skirmisher spawns with more bow, and they have 120 at archery but only 60 at firearms. While Oda Skirmishers spawns with more Guns, but they have 120 firearms and 60 at archery. Which means when an Oda skirmisher spawns with a bow, he is pretty useless.
Also, I have added several armors by combining meshes from Jacobhinds Armour Improvement with Sugoroku (they are used by peasants, Samurai are not touched)
INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS:
Make sure you have the correct version! It's Gekokujo 3.1 with Sugoroku submod!
Detailed Instructions goes like this: Install Gekokujo 3.0 -> Patch it with Gekokujo 3.1 -> Patch again with Sugoroku -> Install this mod by dragging it into the game folder and click yes to overwrite it. Not save-game compatible. Also, BACKUP is important!
Please report any errors, and remember to make back up! So if you don't like the changes I made, you can reverse it.
Other notes:
Later on, I think I'm going to create new troops for each faction Shogun 2 Style, like Mori having their own Wako Pirates branch from Spearmen, etc etc. But I desperately need help for ideas on Minor Clans (Satake, Amako, Nanbu, Ryuzoji, that kind of Clan) obviously this will disrupt the great balance that phlpp has bestowed upon Gekokujo, so it may be not for everyone.

Currently I am thinking of adding Mori Wako Raiders, Oda Sharpshooters, Chosokabe Daikyu Samurai, Date Nodachi Samurai (50/50 on this), and Hojo Heavy Gunners.

Hello just asking, is it possible to add household units made specifically for the players where you can remodel it's item and skills?
In-game, no, but using morgh's you can edit Fort troops (Sado, Tsushima, etc) and give them new items and skills. Although to have the new troops, you need to start a new game.
Are you able to incorporate different items from native or other open-sourced mods for these unique troops?
If so, I have ideas. How about Ryukyu Pirate Infantry available for Ryuzoji, armed with a small shield + short spear/wakizashi? Maybe a Ryukyu Cannoneer armed with a simple hand cannon? I know that the southernmost clans had some intermingling with Ryukyuan pirate clans themselves, so it's not totally unrealistic.
What about an Iga Province Ninja armed with something like throwing grenades, available in central Japan?
How about a Portuguese Mercenary available for the Otomo (As they did once allegedly ask for military assistance from Portuguese ships during a siege), armed with either a musket, pike, or buckler and rapier? I don't know how this would be incorporated into the troop tree realistically though.
Thanks for the comment! Sure I can incorporate both, to complement the new troops. Also, will definitely add Ryukyu pirates! They will be the most unique troops due to their shield, how does their clothing looks though? Do they use japanese armours?
Cannoneer and Ninja throwing grenades are sadly out of my reach though, I edit this tool simply by using morgh's tool and did not touch the source code of the mod.
Yea the problem with unique troops are the troop trees, firstly the mod is made in mind with Samurai using 2 party slots. Which means if I add another branch of samurai troops, they won't be affected. That means I create a unique specialized hatamoto for each factions (Shimazu for it's Katana Hatamoto) which has great stats and proficiencies and a bit higher level.
Other factions gets unique traits too though, like Tokugawa being able to recruit Retainers from Veteran Ashigaru (they have more expensive samurai though don't worry), Mogami having better armored ashigaru, etc.
The Ryukyu would have worn a mixture of Japanese and Chinese clothing as well as armors.

Tokugawa Kisho ninja, Uesugi warrior monks, Ikko Ikki monks, Naginata samurai, No-Dachi Samurai, just to name a few. I assume you got the ideas from Shogun 2, so even Hojo rocket troopers perhaps.

I think I'm going to add a Portuguese as a rare unique troop for the Otomo. You can't recruit it through normal means, so only by rescuing/capturing them.

I'm having a bit of trouble with doing unique troops, whether each faction has a unique replaced hatamoto or a unique replaced samurai line (Miyoshi Tetsubo Guard Hatamoto vs All miyoshi retainers using only a tetsubo)
Remember, they are a WIP. Currently I am play testing it to see if I could find any weird unwanted changes.
you should add the korean invasion or the mongol invasion that happens only when the player has 3 cities under his rule it would be a quite great mod
They can make the archers shoot at the heads of their companions as in the total war of Rome, since warband shoot in a straight line and the arrows almost do not fall.
