Easier way to run Europe at War if you have problems with the non Steam version of this mod.
Because of the ongoing problems I was having with the Steam version of EAW, I decided to ditch that and installed the 7.1 mod from this site. The devs provide a batch file to run the mod, but you can't add a non executable to the Steam library (for some reason batch files are considered non executable).
So I converted the batch into an .EXE file. All you have to do is use a zip extractor program (7zip recommended) and extract to your STEAM directory. This will only run EAW with the COH relaunch version. Then you will need to use the Add game function from the Steam library and browse to the Steam directory, find the EAW.exe file, add file, and you should be all set to run the game from the game list.
It has come to my attention that this 32 bit version may give a false positive warning from anti-virus software. The program used, uses a common compiler, that has been tagged as being used for virus writing. Hence the false positive. You can do 1 of 2 things. Add it to your exception list or use the 64 bit version instead. Leave any comments on this issue.
