To install this mod, place the "error" folder in your "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\sourcemods" directory or wherever your Steam installation is. Then, launch Steam (or exit and
relaunch Steam if it's already open) and start up ERROR.
There's a custom background and logo you can use for the Steam library that's located in the "customimages" folder as well.

No, I feel like it didn't really match the tone of the mod in retrospect.
idk i thought it worked really well. when the hell sirens played in glados' chamber it was a genuine "oh ****" moment

I installed Error and did everything that the instructions said but it won't show up on my Steam Library, what should I do? I've tried going in the launch options dialog box, and typing -game and then the path to Error in my sourcemods folder,
E:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\sourcemods\error
but it would just say the following, "Setup file 'gameinfo.txt' doesn't exist in subdirectory 'E:\Program'. Check your -game parameter or VCONFIG setting." But Portal 2 and other games work perfectly fine. What should I do?
Hello! Make sure that the original Portal is installed before launching ERROR. If that doesn’t work then let me know and I’ll see if I can find a fix for you!

I installed the mod, put it in the sourcemods folder, restarted steam, launched it. it plays the intro but then loads normal portal. please help
Can you still play the normal Portal with this mod installed, or do you have to uninstall to play the normal Portal again?
You're still able to play the original Portal with this mod, sourcemods are seperate from the base game

i think the updated boss music does not fit the game unfortunately in my opinion, but keep up the good work right there m_k_l :)

What is signature.bsp supposed to be?
a .bsp file is a map. but if you are talking about the "signature" part then go into the settings and make you you have dev console enabled, then press ` and type "map signature"

So, I installed the mod into the source mods folder, but I don't see it. I've restarted steam a few times now, even signed out of and back into my account, yet I still don't see it. Is there something that I could be doing wrong?
I noticed that a lot of people are having this issue, it might be a problem with Steam and sourcemods. I'll find a fix for this and update it accordingly!
If you are in Steam, right click on Portal 1.
Then click properties. Click into Installation File location.
*\portal\portal add a folder named "custom" in this directory. This is were you will drag the "error" folder from the rar file, you should have extracted all, after completing the download of error_v21.
So now the directory path will resemble *\portal\portal\custom\error. The "error" folder will contain all the critical components.
Portal will now start in Steam and load your beloved splash screen saying "Error".

I get past test chamber 19. Where you have to leverage a floor mounted rocket launcher to break windows that hinder progress otherwise. Then you gain access to an air vent by jumping off a companion cube. Gain access to what can be described as a sewer, after portaling from a large ceiling vent fan. In this sewer there is a loading screen.
My issue is this loading screen once completed loads me under the map: every time! Tried different tactics but this glitch happens every time, like clockwork. Any advice!
