Full single player campaign of SEGA Dreamcast Quake III Arena. Works with the latest version of Quake 3 Arena v1.32 Full Dreamcast soundtrack.
Installation: Unzip Dreamcast folder to your Quake 3 Arena folder. From main menu go to mods. Select Dreamcast then select load.
Things fixed from the original Dreamcast map pack:
- Works with latest version of Q3A v1.32 originally required Q3A v1.16n
- Removed TGA textures originally included in the DC map pack. The TGA textures were larger in size but lower in quality compared to the same Q3A vanilla JPEG
- Fixed some textures not correctly align
- Fixed original script not showing texture or effects
- Fixed missing textures. Jumppads, specular, etc
- Fixed missing sound "loop_innertube.wav"
- Maps, Music and Bots list load in order same as the Dreamcast version
- No longer have to manually load maps through "Tab" console command
- Other small fixes
Please note that this file has been updated from the original DC map pack released by SEGA and you will not be able to play against Dreamcast players due to the updates
BRILLIANT! THANKS!
Awesome!!!! thanks a lot.
You're welcome.
let me guess: dreamcast has lowpoly ports of the pc version...and you ported those back
SEGA originally released the DC map pack however it wasn't put together well. Dreamcast version varies somewhat from the pc version new levels, music, lighting and a few textures. I just fixed a few things to work the latest version of Q3A.
Nice! More maps to my collection :)

Hi. I can not make it run. I am using the PC version with Q3A updated, I follow the steps but nothing happens, no messages, anything. I load it as a MOD but does not start. Please help!
Make sure a folder named Dreamcast is in your Quake 3 Arena folder and not in your baseq3 folder. In the Dreamcast folder should be dc_mappack.pk3
Hi. Thanks a lot it works fine now. Great pack, have found two new maps, some Q3TA maps and two modified ones, also new music and some interesting new stuff as well :)
Glad to hear you got it working.
Impressive!
You have taken the lead!
Hello, is there a way to use the maps without making a mod folder ? I'd like to run the maps with another mod (Corkscrew Mod) but I can't use 2 mods at once... thx
I figured it out myself: You need to add the dc map pack pk3 file to baseq3, then edit the arenas.txt in pak0.pk/scripts , and add the DC maps in the list among the regular maps there.
I can provide the file if anyone needs it, just PM me if you need it.
Anyone get this working with ioQuake3?
Figured it out. As one of the previous comments stated, create a folder titled Dreamcast in the root directory of the engine to place the mod in.
These maps have great performance, any idea how they did it. I dont see visual differences
We are using this mappack to play on oculus quest 2 for higher framerates. Thanks for making this
hmm, I installed this on Openarena, and the maps seem to work, but all of a sudden the railgun is grey pixel placeholders. I think some textures are interfering. Any idea which could be responsible?
Your mappack use not all maps from DC.I remember what platform use much more maps.
