[COMPARISONS]:
1. GM: GENMIDI file from DOOM 1 vs DOOM 2 GENMIDI
2. GM: with DMX SET vs without
3. GUS: with DMX SET vs without
4. Using the MT32_CONTROL.ROM vs without
[Conclusion]: // When using DOSBox: (SEE included config files)
* SET DMXOPTION=-opl3
- absolutely must do this!
* USE: MT32_CONTROL.ROM with delaysysex (see .conf)
- makes no difference to audio sound, but helps handle it.
* GENMIDI 1/2 Files
- showed no noticeable difference, but that is on ly releavnt to the tracks tested.
* All users should enable DMXOPTION irrelevant of how they listen to the audio (gm, gus, synth, etc)
// TO DO:
1. -phase | with/without
//... Assumption is always use phase will be better! so currently untested.
2. Test virtual synth
3. Test Android parsing with DOLBY ATMOS
[COMPARISONS]://test sheet.
GENMIDI Settings:
DONE: 1. GENMIDI Doom 1 vs DOOM 2 GENMIDI
DONE: a) SET DMXOPTION=-opl3 | with/without
***TODO: b) with -phase | with/without
DONE: c) with swapstereo=true | with/without
GUS Settings:
3.
DONE: a) SET DMXOPTION=-opl3 | with/without
***TODO: b) with -phase | with/without
DONE: c) with swapstereo=true | with/without
[NOTES]:
* According to the doom wiki "Doom and Doom II have different GENMIDI lumps"
* DMX info etc
* default uses MS GS WAVETABLE, thus the GM.DLS can be modifed & tested too.

// note: all images may not be the same size// aligned etc, but there is a slight visible difference in the spectrum regardless.
- the overall impact on these tracks with GENMIDI changes wasn't noticeable enough to really matter.
- To know which version is best: the midi itself will need to be looked at to see which instruments may differ...
...as this would be faster than listening to all 24 tracks twice
- a list of tracks with there differences from each genmidi would be very useful.
