Dark Lore Grimoire is an EPIC mage mod that adds a lot to the game even if you are not playing a mage.

At a glance.

50 Quests Mage based quests.
The College of Winterhold updates, quests and new spells.
Joinable Order of the Black Worm, quests and new spells.
Joinable House Telvanni, quests and new spells.
Joinable Solitude Mages Guild, quests and new spells.
New Skill based Spell System (does not edit the default spells).
Allows you to improve DLG spells you know and make them stronger.
Lots of new dungeons and locations to explore.

Spells

This mod does not edit or change the default spells, this is to avoid compatibility issues with other mods. It copies them and turns them in to DLG spells which monitor your characters magic skills rather than character level. After that you just cast a spell multiple times to learn new spells from the same school of magic automatically.

Which means, your level 40 warrior is not going to be able to cast anything other than basic DLG spells now with out improving his magic skills first.

Some spells such as Dwemer spells can only be gotten via quests to explore Dwemer ruins added in this mod. EG Lodhost Quest.

Training Areas.

Those who successfully pass the White Arrow Fever Quest will find the College Crypt makes an excellent live fire training area. Just open up any coffin on a raised platform to spawn an evil mage. Open it twice and you spawn 2 evil mages.

Mage v mage combat can now be practised properly, and you will earn experience in the normal way too. So its great for testing out spells you do not usually use.
