The textures have improved (keep in mind DXT compression could introduce artifacts on darker textures, some unmodified CS2 textures have this issue which are hidden in the modern engine because of newer texture techniques). Another important information to know is the official VTFEdit could add a green tint when using DXT compression (I read this in comments and a texture I was working on which strangely had its color changed).
