The aim of this mod is to enhance DN3D visuals, audio quality, add QoL changes and fix some bugs. Mods like Duke Plus or Nuclear Showdown, while great, interfere with mentioned balance in a significant way and HRP style packs (adding high resolution textures etc. to old games) never resonated with me - I always preferred the graphics quality closer to the original. This is the reason I created Cosmetic Duke.

Installation:
Put 1_CosmDuke.zip file inside Autoload folder. All of the other TCs become compatible by putting 1_CosmDuke.zip into the Autoload folder along with an appropriate 2_xxx_patch.zip file.
Features:
- Most of monsters have additional death animations, including being headshotted (purely cosmetic and based on chance).
- Additional Duke lines (when gibbing enemies) from DNF. Do not worry, I've taken only the ones which fit Duke's DN3D personality.
- Added DNF lines for headshot kills.
- Added DNF lines for shrinking and freezing enemies.
- Added DN:MP lines when attempting to open a door without a key.
- Widescreen menus, title screens, HUD, weapon sprites.
- Shotgun and Pistol smoother animations.
- Water smoother animation.
- 3D skyboxes.
- HQ sounds.
- HQ inventory items in HUD.
- Footstep sounds.
- All guts and debris remain on the ground and produce juicy sounds when hitting it.
- Weapon casings and shells remain on the ground.
- Footprints are visible when walking on sand and snow.
- Smaller fixes: all props now produce sounds when destroyed, there's sounds for enemies growing back after shrinking, enemies un-freezing, Assault Commander attacking.
- QoL: can reload Pistol manually.
- QoL: Turrets now emit a sound when they acquire a target and re-acquire after being damaged.
- QoL: added sound when finding a secret.
- HUD QoL: secondary weapons like Expander have their ammo visible in HUD at all times.
- HUD QoL: Pistol magazine ammo is visible.
- HUD QoL: all items have their duration visible in seconds.
- HUD QoL: breath meter.
Nuclear Winter:
- Added alert, pain, and death sounds for the Elves.
- Added an attack sound for Snowman and Flying Frosty.
- Added a nuke symbol on the back of the Frosted Battle Mobile, so it is more obvious that they too can be destroyed via their self destruct button, just like the Pig Cop Tanks.
- Added a Santa Hat and a Snowman Hat randomly spawning off of blown up enemies with the respective hats (purely cosmetic gib).
- Added new Duke, Protozoid Slimer and Octabrain sprites by Fantinaikos.
- Added Assault Trooper frame fix by F!re-Fly.
- Fixed up and improved all of the sprites of the Frosted Battle Mobile (Pig Cop Tank).
- Fixed falling Duke animation overlapping with the TV stripper. Had to move the TV stripper animations to do so, and thus had to fix E2L1 separately.
- Fixed the Pig Cop and Sobbot (Santa Claws) coding so you can play user maps with the expansion, however the enemy count in level stats in the main episode will become skewed (you will start with enemies already killed and the overall number of enemies on the level will be increased).
- Map fixes.
Caribbean: Life's a Beach:
- Fixed and cleaned up the Pistol idle state and reload animation sprites (missing and redundant pixels, discolorations).
- Added fixed frames for Beach Chair Babe by Phredreeke.
- Added new Protozoid Slimer and Battlelord sprites by Fantinaikos.
- Map fixes.
World Tour:
- Replaced censored red cross sprites and textures with original ones.
- Added fixed Incinerator pickup sprite by fgsfds.
- Added Incinerator sprite fix by Fox.
- Implemented Cycloid Incinerator AI fix by Ninety-Six (no double health).
Awesome work, but for some reason it doesn't work. It only works when I unzip it.
As for me, I place the zip files in the "autoload" folder but only the main game works, none of the addons work
It works when I use a different location. Like "C:\Games" instead of a long path.
Stupid Windows permission issues.
