Question: I have installed as instructed, but when I clicked launch game button, the launcher hided and restored itself. It seems that the game started and ended at once automatically. Anyone has any idea why this happened?
Did you try changing your renderer and setting
GameMD.exe, Syringe.exe, and DTA.exe to admin?
OK I got the problem solved. I must turn OFF the admin compatibility of GameMD.exe to make it work.

I have a problem, when I launch DTA a kabooom window appear, saying that it failed to create graphics device. when I launch with compatibility mode it say that the main client executable is not found.
Alright, try launching one of the exes from the resources folder. I'm not sure why this bug is happening, but i'm gonna see if I can fix it next patch.
clientdx.exe, clientogl.exe, and clientxna.exe are what you're looking for
if none of them work, XNA will if you download this: Microsoft.com
looks like nice mode.I played mental omega for a long time.this could be good alternative.
