Description

New Version with some critical bug fixes and balance changes. As usual with a new version, manually delete the old BICE folder in TFH/mods and the launcher ! Reinstall the new version by placing in the main directory. 7.23 *might* be save game compatible with 7.03, however its likely many of the bugs will remain in the save file and result in issues.

that is fixed in this update. You might need to rebuild you map cache. Reported checksum is JYTU.

no the savegame will most likely contain a lot of the bugs this version fixes. The worst of them, in the LUA should be clear. however this probably is resulting in some AI issues which will remain. If you continue your game I wouldn't be too serious about it as chances are it will have some sort of problem from the bugs in the savegame.

what did you use to compute the checksum?

Reply Good karma Bad karma+1 vote
PANZEROO Author
PANZEROO - - 1,461 comments

The checksum is generated by the game based on the files it loads. If you have different files loading ( usually by a faulty install or by changing something the checksum will also change. So if you don't have JYTU something is not right

do you have a lot of savefiles in the savegame folder ? Too many of these can cause issues and its best to keep the amount to a bare minimum.

only 1, from a game using wrong cache, shouldn't be the issue though...
I'll just try again sometime with auto-s enabled and report if it happens again

I had a look around on the paradox forum for HOI3 and it does seem to be a problem with the game in general for some people. Here is a "fix" which I saw repeated a few times. "I had this problem and reinstalling VC redistrutable from ...:Steam\Steamapps\common\Hearts of Iron 3\install\vcredistx64.exe seems to have fixed the problem. If you are running 64-bit windows, then use the x64 installer, otherwise use the x86 installer for 32-bit windows."

either you didn't download the correct file, or the download didn't complete, or you need to rename it and add an ".exe" im the end. If praying and enabling 'show file extention' thingy doesn't help, then proceed with caution and download it again.

If You researched tech I mentioned than it should launch. Can this be some kind of bug from other mods? Thats is a question for creators of said mods.

not 100% sure what you mean. In BICE the infantry unit is considered a component of a division. So you have infantry, artillery, AT, recon, engineers. You can adjust the amount of men (in game strength) in each of those components. So yes you could have very weak strength infantry divisions if you opted for low strength units. Its up to you as a player to create the type of division which suits your play style and or realism. Different nations have different size divisions and this also changed throughout the period. A German infantry division was a very different size to a soviet division for example.

BICE breaks divisions up into components. So for example infantry divisions have an infantry component, artillery, AT, engineers, and recon units. Realism is subjective of course, since this is just a game. Divisions don't have hospital, supply, logistics, communications or command units either. Having 3 main units and supports is neither here nor there. Especially since players don't tend to ever split the division up anyway. So BICE uses a different system to model divisions. Each component brings a new CA bonus and other modifiers to the division. Comparisons with other mods is pointless.

as I see it in BIce you are the one in command and thus can control the size of units to fit your need. For example, if you don't wanna micromanage as much you can just make less but larger divisions.

BTW, I noticed that the weight doesn't change with size??

Reply Good karma Bad karma+1 vote

you are not necessarily limited by historical constraints in BICE. You can increase the size of the units or decrease them as you see fit.
