This is the 3rd 8.0 release. This file is mod-foldered and it uses 7z based compression. Actual space un-compressed is about 964MB and can be played in four configurations. Please read the read-me folder to follow through on installation instruction. It is recommended that the user has more than 4GB of memory to run this mod. And uses Rome:Total War/Barbarian-Invasion RTW/BI 1.6, as is available through the Rome:Total War Gold Edition or purchase from Steam

Today - Dec 11 - I see version 8.C patch 6. How is this different than patch 4 or patch 5. I download patch 4 yesterday.

Well, our animation Lead Pea has created a new Demi-Lancer animation using the Modular Biometric Animation (or MBA) approach.
The goal for 8.0C is MBA, so we can re-create the new 3D models and animation and "port" them to Rome II.
So far she has done
1. Amazon Dispatcher Corp
2. Amazon Foot Archers
3. Macedonian Amazon Mercenary Foot Archers
4. Macedonian Amazon Mercenary Horse Archers
5. Amazon Brigandine Cavalry
6. Geothe Amazon Virgin Cavalry
The last release (as published in our dev home page), which have
1. Amazon Demi-Lancers, six units
2. Re-name Amazonia to Themiskyra
This micro incremental upgrade is necessary because as each development team member contributed works, it has to be tested against an automated test matrix to make sure it works. The incremental approach allows better fall-back, since the previous releases are all archived. We can easily go back to a previously known good release and use that as a baseline. So when we state that the 8.0 series has modular biometric animation, we meant by the end of the release (when we are done with 8.0C and going to 8.0D), we should have a reasonable delivery of the MBA, not on its initial release.
Also, the name changes of Themiskyra was done by Erika, so when she turns in her work, we can determine if the risk is high to combined the changes or keep them tested separately. I decided that we should combined them, so that is how we got a 6th minor release in 8.0C.
This is all done to keep the quality of the mod as good as it can be, so thank you for your patience and understanding.

Sorry, it may be a stupid question, but do I have to have any previous version of this mod to install the 8.0, or just the BI 1.6?
Actually that is a great question!
Every download is completely self-contained with all the necessary files. You only need to have the RTW/BI 1.6, or RTW Gold Edition to make it work.

is Refulgent 8.0C automatically patched with all the new updates I can read about or is there a site section I missed where the patches can be downloaded separately to Refulgent 8.0C.

You just download the same link you will see number at the end of the file keep changing. It actually the version i'm confuse to when i'm coming to download this mod at first time

Like Roman9441 said, we do releases in minor changes, and there is no real "patch" to speak of. In 8.0C major release, you would find a file with postfix of 80C.16.7z, the number 16 in this case is the minor release number. The minor release means the change has gone through our test matrix and any feature were made available ASAP instead of made available in so many months or year.
That is why we state the purpose of change at this thread so the fans can be made aware of what is updated.
Any major release is feature related. So 8.0C for example, is about Modular Biometric Animation (MBA), and this would be a first path to implement this feature. This does not mean the feature is complete on first release, just that the impetus has been started towards that goal, when we move to 8.0D, it would likely mean that 8.0C has reasonably met our goal and the next major feature is being added. At this time, 8.0D has several candidates being considered.
You and all fans are welcome to make suggestions as to what should be added. All accepted answer will have their name added to the credit list.

amazone warriors is what I wanted to play around with since I first completed the game back when it came out.
I tried to mod the game myself but I couldn't make the rebel faction into amazone faction. hahah.. glad someone else with better skills got the idea too!!! :)
We also appreciate if you can help us with rating issues, as our ratings are being attacked by religious and/or regulatory zealots, as well as by potential pirates in the past.
Im having CTD when choosing my faction and pressing the start the campaign button with BI and a script error message with RTW.
Would be appreciated if you could help as im looking forward in playing this.
Sorry, we usually process the comments at the main section, you might have a bad download, or the extraction of the files is not correct. For example, you would need to extract the files and folders from downloaded mod file to a temporary directory first. Then locate the subfolder called AmazonsTW-Refulgent under the temporary folder and drag and drop (or copy) the entire folder onto the Rome Total War folder.
If you have previous Amazons Total War install, you need to make sure the previous installed version is deleted.
You also need to make sure the Rome Total War is a vanilla version.

Hey, a friend told me you were considering making an Amazon mod for Rome 2 since it supports mods, is this true?
If so, any idea when it shall be released? :D
Sorry for the late reply, the Rome II has been postponed, because although it supports some modding, it does not have enough utilities or access allow full culture (such as the Amazon Culture). And our evaluation of the AI is that it is still not fully mature yet. So like the Rome 1, perhaps after a few patches from CA, we will start the full porting in earnest.
However, We definitely are looking into M2TW port right now.
