There were no slaves in the North because it had already been outlawed.

Actually there were slaves in Missouri, Kentucky, Maryland, and
Deleware (Union states) right up until the 13th amendment was ratified.

Lincoln had no power to ban slaves in the border states, but he could in the south since they were in rebellion. However slavery wasn't banned. He just confiscated the rebel's slaves that ran away as war contraband and then gave them freedom.

actually deleware was the last state to get rid of slavery. Also the "border states" were unionist states, who also had slavery. You also have to remember that the territories below the mason Dixie line had slaves after the civil war. Finally, the slave trade was illegal in the north as was breeding, but owning, inheriting, and transporting slaves was not. Children of northern slaves were still born into slavery.

what i find funny is that slavery was banned in all southern states EXCEPT the ones that bordered the UNION!!! lol fun fact returned slaves was a big income for northern courts.......

The Civil War was about slavery, not taxes, states rights nor anything else. Historians countless times have proven it was about slavery. I think you need to take US History again.

the war wasn't about taxes, it was about keeping the union, it was fought to keep the united states whole and get the seceded states back, then they started to loose and feared the European country's would help the confederates so they said it was also about ending slavery.

not true at all. they continued building the capitol throughout the war. Slavery legal in West Va, Kentucky, and Maryland throughout war.

He outlawed it only in the South so the border states would stay in the Union.

He didn't "ban" slavery. The emancipation proclamation gave slaves federal protection and was a war measure, but it still saw slaves as property. Hence why Lincoln, Republicans, and abolitionists pushed for the 13th Amendment which formally banned slavery with the exception of ex-post-facto.

hay here is a suggestion for the next version. for the volunteers can you have the hats like a cowboy and some like kepis and forages? i want it to be as historically accurtae as possable.
