The 5th anniversary update, Version 1.83 addresses many of the issues found in version 1.8 and subsequent patches. This update also includes a new campaign and scenarios in the Expanded version. Some balancing changes have also occurred to correct a few issues presented in version 1.8.
Some of the changes in Version 1.83:
Added Crocodiles
Lowered work rate effect of woodcutting upgrades to +25% from +33%
Lowered repair rate for boats/ships by about 60% (slightly faster than Upatch HD)
Increased the Wood cost of the Scythe Chariot technology to 1600 from 1200
Fixed issues that were causing Hittites to not be able to reach the Iron Age
Fixed an issue that caused Houses to no longer be buildable after losing too many
Increased the limit of Houses to 100 from 80
Fixed an issue that caused Parthian Camel Riders to move faster because of their Cavalry bonus
Fixed an issue that prevented Gallics from gaining extra population when starting in the Iron Age (requires a House now)
Fixed a few issues with Baekje's tech tree previews
Fixed an issue that allowed Xiongnu Camel Riders to benefit from Cavalry bonus
Explorers can attack Alligators and Crocodiles now
Chicken/Rabbit Hunters now benefit from Age bonuses
Atlantean: removed Villager training bonus
Babylonian: lowered Tower/Wall bonus to +33% from +50%
Dilmunite: Villagers now have +1 Melee Armor
Egyptian: removed Mercenary
Hittite: removed Craftsmanship
Illyrian: increased Cavalry cost bonus to 110 Wood instead of 105
Israelite: lowered Slinger armor bonus to only +1 from each Age, instead of +2; increased cost of Monotheism to 140 gold from 70
Numidian: lowered Mercenary Hp bonus to +20 from +25
Palmyrene: lowered Camel Rider speed bonus to +15% from +20%
Parthian: lowered "WarElephants" area attack bonus to +28% from +33%
Roman: fixed Slave Hp bonus and lowered it to +25% from +33%
Shang: lowered Improved Bowman attack rate bonus to +15% from +25%; added Irrigation
Van Lang: removed Infantry Chain Mail and Craftsmanship; added Cavalry Chain Mail (Helepolis is available without Craftsmanship)
Xiongnu: changed "Cavalry" bonus to +1 armor in the Bronze Age and +1 attack in the Iron Age
Legion: lowered Hp to 140 from 150
Elite Infantry: increased attack to 17 from 16
Scout: lowered attack to 4 and Food cost to 90 from 100
"MeleeChariots": increased Wood cost to 90 from 70, and increased speed by about +6%
War Chariot: lowered attack to 7 from 8, and increased attack area by 25%
Scythe Chariot: lowered attack to 14 from 16, and increased Melee Armor to 3 from 2
Increased the cost of the Scythe Chariot tech to 1600 Wood from 1200 Wood
Heavy Cavalry: lowered Hp to 160 from 165
War Elephant: increased Melee Armor to 1 from 0
Armored Elephant: increased Melee Armor to 4 from 3
"CamelRiders": increased "Cavalry" damage bonus to +6 from +5, and increased "Chariot" damage bonus to +6 from +4
Heavy Camel Rider: decreased Melee Armor to 3 from 4
Chariot Archer: lowered attack to 5 from 6, and lowered Hp to 70 from 75; changed cost to 90w/50g from 70w/60g
Chariot Archer: increased attack bonus vs Priests to +5 from +4, and increased speed by about +6%; increased frame delay by +1
"HorseArchers": increased frame delay by +2
Horse Archer: lowered Hp to 70 from 75 and attack to 7 from 8
Heavy Horse Archer: lowered attack to 8 from 10
Mercenary: lowered Hp to 140 from 150, and attack to 9 from 10
Pyroman: increased base damage to building by +5; also added damage bonus vs Boats/Ships
