Use Source sdk. Instead of a map. instead of simple stuff, like turrets, and fences, you should try making walls move around, doors and buttons, math_counter, func_door, trigger_move, trigger_multiple. I just tried the map.. I couldn't even figure out how to get it to work... its just a modded map, with some prefabs. Thats why I like Source sdk, because all you need is one file to get it to work.
Yes...i know, hammer editor is better but for my version of portal game does not work very well(Ex: i wish make a metal wall non portal and i cant...still can be portaled). My english is not so good:D...anyway...i make portal map for placere;)
Its because you were using the wrong metal wall material. I've done this before. I don't know why its there, but it is, Theres like 5 metal wall materials, 4 work, 1 doesn't. So you just got unlucky and chose the portal-able metal.
Check out Developer.valvesoftware.com , specifically Developer.valvesoftware.com . This wiki has lots of information about how to use hammer and make portal maps, or maps of any kind.
The hammer editor is infinitely better than po_edit, I recommend you uninstall the latter from your computer.
