Very good.
Not bad, not really bad. I would make the Combine Soldier to be a bit of a dark blue, because sometimes is hard to read.
Looking forward to the EP1 and EP2 versions.
I went for the grey, blue-ish color intentionally, since the combine soldier's radio isn't supposed to stand out, and I wanted to reflect that in the CC.
As for the episodes, they've just been added to the addon. Enjoy!
Can you please share the uncompiled captions for hl2? I want to use it with SMOD, and I found out that for some reason SMOD uses .txt files that are compiled on loading, so putting in .dat does not work.
Hi, the updated rewrite now includes the captions themselves.
Thank you!
Can you please make it compatible with Half-Life 2 Update?
I tested your mod in Half-life 2 Update, and not all captions are working (are displayed)
Hi! I think you need to use the raw .txt file. I'm not 100% sure if that will work, but it worked with mMod

Thank you for your answer!
Sorry, what do you mean with "raw .txt file" ?
The captions used by Half life 2 are compiled. For some reason, Half life 2 update requires an uncompiled .txt file (raw text, uncompiled)
It's included in the download.
I noticed that the Overwatch Voice itself (the robotic female voice) didn't have subtitles, when I tested at the part where Civil Protection raids the building
Hi! That is correct, it's because they are a part of the level's soundscapes, which play raw .wav files. I'm only able to add close captioning to soundscripts.
Thanks for this!
sorry for the stupid question but...
how to install them?
nvm i didn't notice the instructions.txt file, sorry!

Hello. I just want to let you know that MMod has some new added dialogue in sentences.txt file. IF you can, can you please make another version of this, but with MMod?
Can I try to use this for a mod i'm making, i'll give credit
Of course!
Hey,
So I'm playing HL2 Update MMod and I've been using this and adding some more sentences to Combine soldiers and MetroPolice, as well as captions for them (and modifying some of the captions used here to be more accurate, as I've found some mistakes in some of the captions or grammar inaccuracies and otherwise with regards to what's said). This hasn't caused any issues, but recently while loading a save game or new game, the game doesn't load unless I try loading it a second time. When it doesn't load, the console gives me this error: Host_Error: CEngineSoundServer::PrecacheSound: Bad string: npc/overwatch/radiovoice/die2.wav
If I load it a second time, it successfully loads, but if I kill a metrocop, the game crashes to desktop. When I remove all sentences involving die2 or change the sound being played, it gives the same message but for die1. Any suggestions on whar's happening and how to fix it? I've heard online that it has something to do with scripting, but I'm not sure what. Thank you for your time.
the error is related to the sound played, and is not related to closed captions. I can't give you a more accurate answer though, sorry.
The line ""NPC_MetroPolice.Cupcop.Failure.Leave" which plays if you throw the can at the can guard has an error. I comes before the subtitle color (meaning it's formatted wrong). And the full line should be, "I have a failure to comply with loyalty check, tag as possible 10-103M."
Great find, I'll fix it when I have time!

No longer for zombines?
what is the purpose of adding sentences.txt?
this was so wrong, the sentences txt Doesn't working on ep1 and ep2 that means character like alyx or kleiner just broken and doesn't have sounds. you just ruined my day bruh
